Congress has awarded the Medal of Honor to SFC Paul Ray Smith. I’m proud to say that I served on the front lines with people like Paul and only wish he could be alive to have it awarded personally. It’s people like him that kept me alive in Iraq. It’s people like him that kept my friends alive in Iraq. And it’s people like him who are all still to my left and right as I serve today.
