A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
That sounds like a majority to me. The resolution to call for the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq failed with only 3 members voting to bring us back. I’d like to know who those three people are, so I researched it.
The three individuals voting to withdraw troops immediately from Iraq were Reps. McKinney, Serrano, and Wexler. Rep. Cynthia McKinney is a Georgia-4th district Democrat. Rep. Jose Serrano is a New York-16th district Democrat. Rep. Robert Wexler is a Florida-19th district Democrat. These are the only three individuals that need to be replaced next election season. These are the three individuals who see our strength and resolve weakened and terrorism strengthened. If these are your representatives, you may want to send them an email or a write them a letter.
It’s funny how many Democrats and some Republicans have called for the withdrawal of troops all over the media, yet when they have to put their money where their mouth is the truth comes out. They’ve downplayed our achievements and made it known that we need to pull out. They’ve used the media to their advantage and the media has gladly helped push their agenda to discredit a sitting president and our military.
Rep. Murtha, a Marine Corps retired veteran said, “Our troops have become the enemy. We need to change direction in Iraq.” I respect Mr. Murtha and his service, but he has to be naive to think that our troops have “become” the enemy. Our entire way of life is the enemy. Every American is the enemy. Every Christian is the enemy. They do not care if we’re in Iraq, China, Brazil, or America, they want us dead.
In voting against the resolutiont to immediately withdraw troops, he directly contradicts what he’s been calling for all along. He was quoted as saying “This is the immediate redeployment of American forces because they have become the target.” Yet he still voted to say the course and finish the job. I applaud him for that, but I’m starting to see a pattern with Democrats in general. It’s obvious that they are only trying to tear this country apart until they again have a sitting President. It’s double talk.
If I had the time, I’d pull up other quotes from people who have been screaming about the withdrawal of troops in the media, smearing mud all over the place, and then voting NOT to pull us out. k

Now that would be an interesting project.

Hmmmm….then is it the MSM that wants us out of Iraq? Must be so…that’s all you hear from them. It would also be interesting to follow up on the congressional future of those 3.

The term “redeployment” is equal to pullout like the term “I’m against the war not the soldiers” is equal to the new anti-military no just war movment.

CJ,
That was very well said, thank you!
I too am sick of all these politicians crying foul when they won’t even give the president or our troops a chance to finish the job in Iraq!
Why would they vote against something if they so strongly believe that we should pull out of Iraq immediately?! I agree that they want to discredit the president but in the meantime they are hurting our troops!

Those people in the government and in the press do NOT SPEAK for the majority of us. Our voices are not heard as often as they should, but I still believe we are the majority – those of us who think you and the other men and women fighting for freedom in Iraq and safety for us back home are heroes. God bless and keep you.
