I decided to check into this after reading about them on The Baghdad Alcohol Sponge blog. A company on eBay is actually selling “dead insurgent” figures. Don’t believe everything you read on eBay. According to TBAS,

I have never, since 4th grade, had any reason to try to figure out approximately how large 1/35th of myself would be. And these Gay Insurgents aren’t even painted–look at the damn box–says “painted by…”. Pretty cheesy way of getting off on a technicality that the ones in the pic are painted—but not my homo-warriors.

I wonder if the Islamists would start protesting and breaking stuff again if they saw this… Do you think they’d be offended? I think the only thing detailed about these figures is the description. On the eBay listing it says that the figures are “highly detailed”. Yet, take a look at what TBAS got. I can barely even make out the figures. I guess that technically, they COULD be highly detailed. They just don’t tell us that we’re the ones that have to do that. I guess if I had $30 just lying around, I’d gamble with ordering the figures myself.

Sorry, I can’t help but laugh every time I look at them. I need to go.

  1. How and why would anyone come up with an ideal like this? Much less spend $30 to buy one. But, I’m glad TBAS did, ’cause it does give one a good laugh.
    What a scam.

  2. CJ,
Why would anyone want to buy something like that anyway?!

Looks like plaster figures to me that have been broken up Hee! :)

  3. Actually, I was retarding around on eBay typing in half obscene terms to see what would come up.

I was gonna buy a bunch of them, arrange them on the desk, and declare it as a mock-up sand table for an emergency evacuation…

and I’m stickin to it! hahha
