Well, I guess I’m the first guy to sign up for CJ’s ad. My name is David Sneakers. I’m not in the military, but I like llamas. I know some of you are wondering what llamas have to do with a military blog. Well, sit back and take a journey with me.

My fascination of llamas started when I was about 5 years old. My mother left me and I was adopted by a pack of wild alpacas. By my twelfth birthday I had mastered the art of spitting at people, just like my adopted herd. It was also around that same time that my pack was skinned and eaten, except for Larry.

One day, Larry and I were walking (llamas don’t like to be ridden much) and it started to rain. As it rained something occurred to me: I was getting wet. I ducked under the safety of Larry’s belly but the rain had drenched him as well and suddenly I wasn’t just wet but stinky. Have you ever smelled a wet llama? I’m one of the few living to tell about it.

We were both just walking in the rain thinking how great it would be if the rain stopped. Suddenly, it was no longer raining on us. It was still raining, just not on us. Looking ahead we both saw rain. When we turned around, it was even raining behind us. We both looked at each, shrugged our shoulders and then looked up. Turns out we had walked under a bridge. It’s kind weird how it doesn’t rain under a bridge but it does rain AROUND one.

We decided to stay a bit and relish our newfound luck. Larry decided to take a nap, while I continued to step in and out of the rain, astounded at the miracle of it all. Suddenly, I heard a “thump, thump” sound. I turned around and saw some guy kicking Larry and poking him with a fork. Larry’s a deep sleeper. I yelled at him to leave Larry alone.

“You kidding me,” the guy said. “This thing is the best dinner I’ve laid my eyes upon since my days in the Corps.”

So, you see. I have something in common with the military and consider myself well-versed in this blogging thing. Plus, I know CJ from sending him all my correspondence with Nigerians. He keeps taking credit for it like he’s really responsible, but he’ll be sorry one day when all those millions of dollars start flowing into my bank account. Of course, I need to open one first.

  1. Well, David, it’s so nice to finally “meet” you. You did have a very interesting upbringing.

  2. HIYA DAVID….keep up the correspondence with Nigerians, it might make you rich one day.

  3. David, I’m not sure what llamas and a man living under a bridge have to do with a soldier’s perspective, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes I feel like I’m talking to myself.

  4. Welcome back David! What a great pic! Any new ones?

  5. Welcome back David! What a great pic! Any new ones?

  6. :) HAHAHAHA!

  7. Hee Hee and Ha Ha! So funny David!! I’m glad that you made it OK through the rain. Tell CJ that your fascination with llamas makes me laugh! :) Interesting picture!

  8. That David Sneakers does one mean llama face. I hate to brag, but I’ve befriended more than a few llamas in my time, at zoos, in crowded elevators, riding on Mopeds and such, and David is a dead-ringer for any of the crazed ones I’ve met! (And the ones that like hanging out under bridges – they’re the WORST kind!) That firm-lipped straight mouth, the flared nostrils, the maniacally bulging eyes, the left eye bulging ever so slightly larger than right – Wait, it all fits! Don’t mess with him, he’s one Baaaaddd bama llama ding dong!!! (Adopted or not!) Quick someone, ANYone, call Animal Control, call the Pound! But for the love of Pete DON’T call PETA! Till they get here – BACK AWAY FROM THE LLAMA!

And we should probably try to soothe llama boy by encouraging it to do what it does best…

    Umbrellas all up and open?
Okay, we’re good; let the spitting commence! ;-)

  9. David- Welcome back!! We’ve missed you! What an…errrr…. interesting picture you posted….that sweater you’re wearing isn’t …..wool, is it??!!! If so, hope it wasn’t anyone you knew. I’m sure the Nigerian money will be flowing in your direction any day now. Please post again soon. Thanks!

  10. Is that sweater-vest made from llama fur?
