A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
Piggybacking off of CPL M’s post, I’ve found a LOT of good information that proves our Marines were, at the very least, framed by the media and their Iraqi “sources”.
All you need to read is THIS. In order to get the full, unadulterated story, make sure you read EVERY MEDIA link that Riehl World View gives. You’ll leave your computer mouth agape and searching for air. The inconsistencies in the media are absolutely astounding. And because of the irresponsible reporting of our MSM, Marines and a Navy Corpsman are in shackles at Camp Pendleton.
This is worse than Rathergate, folks. Because of what is being haphazardly reported, our soldiers are forced into incarceration…WITHOUT CHARGES!! People have lost their jobs and careers over this story.
I can’t even finish my rant, I’m so frustrated.

Miss Ladybug
Some people are just too ready to believe these stories. In one of my classes (connecting reading & writing in the classroom) today, we went through an exercise in writing a poem based on a previously published one. We were all asked to share at least part of what we had written. One lady, who I had for the Elementary Social Studies class last summer, is apparently also an Army brat. She is probably about 10 years older than me, so she would have “come of age” in the 70s. I knew from last summer that she leans very much to the left. In her poem, she referred to the noise from artilley/tanks, a “testosterone village”, and called the military “bombers, killers”. Unfortunately, I was sitting next to her. We had been asked to comment on what people shared. I spoke up about also being a “brat”, and having a very different view, and having someone refer to the military as “killers” really, really, really bothers me. We are to write in a “writer’s notebook” each day. I haven’t done mine yet for today, but it will be about how I feel about the military vs. how others call them “killers”. It might even end up on my blog, once I’m satisfied with it…..
