A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
According to Fox News Israel has sent in ground forces to persue terrorists that have abducted two Israeli soldiers:
BEIRUT, Lebanon — The militant group Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers during clashes Wednesday across the border in southern Lebanon, prompting a swift reaction from Israel, which sent ground forces into its neighbor to look for them.
The forces were trying to keep the soldiers’ captors from moving them deeper into Lebanon, Israeli government officials said on condition of anonymity.
The Israeli military would not confirm the report.
But that’s just a small portion of the action going down in the now incredibly tense battle for Israeli’s freedom from terror. The venerable Israeli Air Force has come to call according to the Associated Press:
Israeli warplanes struck two bridges over the Litani River deep in southern Lebanon [...] on the main north-south highway between the port cities of Tyre and Sidon, Lebanese security officials said.
I think it’s time we let the leash off the Israelis. Let them defend themselves how they see fit and let’s put this false sense of peace behind us. Israel has been putting up with the people we are at war against across the globe for too long. I feel that actions like these will only stregthen the Israeli position against Hezbollah (and eventually Hamas).
On a side note, I just hope that if I’m ever kidnapped that the US military will invade another country and start dropping bombs on it in order to find me.

I agree!
Let them protect their land for goodness sakes.
I am sick to death of hearing about this and that and then everybody always, always, always convinces them into pulling back…
Let them get it over with. The time has come for Israel to kick their a**!

As for your comment about being caught and the US invading and dropping bombs to get you back, I wouldn’t count on it.
I’ve done one tour in Iraq and after the Tucker/Menchaca incident have decided if my HMMMWV gets overtaken and we are to be POWs, I will exit the vehicle with a couple of grenades in my hands and the spoons left in the truck.

Tom, I’ve said the same thing to my wife. If I’m ever ‘captured’, it won’t be as a living being. You better believe that they’ll take me with my finger on a spent trigger, empty on ammo, with a bayonet stuck to the flash suppressor.
CS, great read. Let’s analyze our situation in the world today:
Everyone thinks that this war on terrorism is just in Iraq, that all the terrorists in the world are converged in Iraq and just killing our soldiers. This isn’t about Iraq. Nope, it’s all about Iraq and…
India and the Sudan and Algeria and Afghanistan and New York and Pakistan and Israel and Russia and Chechnya and the Philippines and Indonesia and Nigeria and England and Thailand and Spain and Egypt and Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia and Ingushetia and Dagestan and Turkey and Kabardino-Balkaria and Morocco and Yemen and Lebanon and France and Uzbekistan and Gaza and Tunisia and Kosovo and Bosnia and Mauritania and Kenya and Eritrea and Syria and Somalia and California and Kuwait and Virginia and Ethiopia and Iran and Jordan and United Arab Emirates and Louisiana and Texas and Tanzania and Germany and Pennsylvania and Belgium and Denmark and East Timor and Qatar and Maryland and Tajikistan and the Netherlands and Scotland and Chad and Canada and…
…and pretty much wherever Muslims believe their religion tells them to:
“Fight and slay the Unbelievers wherever ye find them. Seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war.”
Qur’an, Sura 9:5
Christians aren’t blowing themselves in subways. Buddhists aren’t strapping on explosive vests at popular restaurants. Sikhs aren’t ramming their rigged up toyotas on busy streets. Hindis aren’t kidnapping and beheading people. Jews aren’t killing innocent women and children and blaming it on their liberating saviors. Guess who is? I won’t say, just guess…
Go, Israel, Go. If Syria or Iran get any more involved, we’ll be there.
Donna
I agree with CJ. I was thinking today that there is war or potential war all over the globe. I’ve never seen a time such as this!

Christians and Israel have comitted acts of terrorism, too.
The Bible is not as violent as the Qu’ran, but it is still violent.
Why are we supporting Israel again?
