Congratulations to Spl. Lopez and the other 2 soldiers as well.
They have earned the right to become American Citizens more then some American born citizens have.

CJ – Thanks for posting the pictures!! They put a big smile on my face! Aren’t they the most awesome-looking new American citizens?? I not only know Sergio but Eduardo as well, who told me a couple of weeks ago when I last caught up with him that he had just passed the test to become an American citizen. I had heard Sunday night that Bush was coming to officially present American citizenship to three soldiers who were born in other countries but fought and were wounded in OIF and I figured Sergio and Eduardo would be among those honored. I am happy for them and their families and for all of us to have these outstanding American citizens in our midst!!!

Wow. That is awesome. It brought tears to my eyes — I’m sort of ultra-partiotic. Thanks CJ. Great post.

Congratulations to all 3!
I am of the opinion that anybody who enlists and serves in the Armed Forces of the United States, and either receeves an honorable or medical discharge, or decides to re-enlist, should automatically be granted full citizenship. And that their immediate familiy should be fast-tracked for citizenship, with no chance of deportaion.
