The Kurds have really had it rough, and I’m glad they are happy with the way things are going. Think Muslims aren’t into ethnic cleansing of their own? Ask the Kurds. Truthfully, I think they are the group most ready for democracy in the Middle East…that is unless you were to take an honest poll of Muslim women around the world.

Wow!! Miriam you said a mouthful!! The Kurds are an amazing people! They have, since the first Gulf War, under US protection, been able to build a rather bustling society! The Iraqi’s from other parts of the country all go to the Kurdish part of the country to vacation in the calm and peace that is there. There is a lake there and the people are picnicing and swimming just like here on any given summer afternoon. They are advancing their infrastructure, and have major construction projects going. It truly is amazing.
And one other note, I think it says a lot that the Kurdish leaders would take out an ad on our tv just to say thanks!! Call me crazy but I couldn’t see, say, France saying thanks for savin our butts!!!
