I got my start in blogging a little over two years ago as a political blogger. I started out without a single reader and then worked my way up to a few regulars and the occassional loon. I’ve had a passion for politics for some time and I sometimes bring that background and passion here. My quesiton up for a vote is real simple.

Election Day is getting real close and I have a few things I want to say, but I’ll hold off until the end of this poll. I may get state my mind even if everyone says they don’t care, so don’t feel like this is going to be a policy maker for me.

This also gives me a chance to test this poll plugin. Two birds, meet one stone.

  1. I kinda’ miss the old artitumis.com.

But I like this blog at least as well.

  2. Yeah, I miss it at times, too. Judging by that poll, I may start doing political stuff on a regular basis. I didn’t expect it to be so one sided.

  3. What, you want me to vote “No” for you, Cpl M? :) OK, “No”. Actually, I don’t care. I get plenty of politics at other sites. I come here to hear the things about soldiers I can’t get anywhere else.

  4. Good point, Miriam. There certainly is no shortage of political commentary out there.

  5. Political commentary from a military perspective can be valuable. The military is subject to politics in a different way than the general population, so I think their views are valuable.

My “political concern” of military consequence is whether ballots are getting to the military in the field and whether they will be counted this time.

  6. Dang, you might give me a poke in the eye, but I voted no. First of all, blogging about politics pulls in the trolls. Second of all, there are so many political blogs. I like the unique voice you have here on ASP. Don’t be mad!

  7. There are pleanty of other blogs that are political. I come here for a soldier’s perspective, not politics. I’d be disappointed to see a lot of political commentary on this blog. I’d suggest posting as a political commentator on another site, perhaps haystack’s No End but Victory.

  8. I tend to agree with some of the others here. While I value your thoughts Cpl M, I am really tired of political things right now. I know politics is necessary but just not on your blog, please. There is alot of controversy involved anymore in politics.
