From the comments at OpFor comes this.
As a father of a 9-month-old baby girl, this positively rips me up inside.
What is going to happen to this poor baby? Born a girl in a nation that mostly practices a religion that looks at women as second-class citizens. A religion that broken in half, and the two factions hate each other so much that they would murder this infant’s entire family, and try to kill her too.
Heartbreaking.
CPT Rainmaker
You’re right, CPT. I fight so there is a chance that things like this will never again happen in Iraq. Ever.

Thomas
Heartbreaking to read this story.
Anna
The Chief is very humble about the whole experience. He told me (in email) that there are 1,000s doing this every day, he just happened to be one of the two in the picture. I had received the story from a friend in email and was so moved I had to post about it. We all know that our troops are the best, but it’s nice to have it publicly acknowledged!
You all brush off the title of hero, but so many have truly gone above and beyond showing your compassion for your fellow man and standing for freedom I cannot think of you all in any other way. A depth of gratitude I cannot adequately express to all our men and women in uniform…past, present and future!

Ditto what Anna said!
You all are the best! (Anna said it sooo much better than I could have)
