I just can’t keep a resolution to save my life. Maybe it’s the flood of emails I’ve gotten since making my resolution. Maybe it’s the contempt that certain people have for the authors and readers of this site (and the military at large). Maybe it’s the way they think we’re complete idiots by trying to convince us they’re different people when the obvious evidence say otherwise. Maybe I just can’t get over having our wives’ honor trashed. Whatever the reason, the bottom line is that I really don’t need a reason. There are just some people you’re better off not associating with. The following post is going to be somewhat religious, so only click continue if you don’t mind reading a little about a religious story. It’s a bit long, but serves two functions: 1) it’s a great story and 2) it tells a little about how I came to my decision.

In the Book of Mormon, there’s a great story about a man named Amalickiah who was an evil man and hated the righteous people called Nephites. Amalickiah caused a great stir of hate among the Lamanites, the Nephites’ enemies. So much so that the King of the Lamanites sent out a proclamation that the eLamanites would again go to battle against the Nephites. However, most of the Lamanites were afraid to go into battle again because they’d already gotten their tails handed to them many times by the Nephites and didn’t want to lose their lives. Some refused to do battle. The king was upset about this and gave Amalickiah command of the armies that were more afraid of disobeying the king than dying in battle. Now, the funny thing is that Amalickiah had already attempted to defeat the Nephites and lost. Not only did his predecessor, Zarahemnah, lose – he was scalped. Perhaps he didn’t like his new hair cut and wanted revenge, I don’t know.

Amalickiah was a power hungry man. He wasn’t content with being just the leader of some armies. He wanted it all. He wanted to be king. But he was a cunning, subtle man. Amalickiah couldn’t be king by leading the armies that were loyal to the real king. He needed to gain favor with the much larger armies who were disobedient to the king. The armies who had disobeyed the king fortified themselves up on a mount for fear of being killed. Amalickiah positioned his armies in the valley at the base of the mount which was called Antipas. The Lamanites on the mount assumed the armies had come to attack them and prepared for battle.

Amalickiah sent word to the leader of the armies on the mount, Lehonti, that Amalickiah wanted to speak with him. Lehonti said no way. Amalickiah tried again. Forget it. Amalickiah sent a messenger up the mount a third time (I bet that guy was getting tired). Nuh uh, no good. So, Amalickiah decided to go UP the hill, almost to the camp of Lehonti. He sent his messenger a fourth time asking Lehonti to come down just a little, with his guards, to meet him. Lehonti went down from the hill just a little bit to meet with Amalickiah. Lehonti’s army was much bigger than Amalickiah’s army.

Amalickiah convinced Lehonti to come off the mount the rest of the way in the middle of the night and surround his much smaller army in the valley. When they awoke the next morning, Amalickiah’s army would be surrounded and have to surrender to avoid being slaughtered. In exchange for this act of charity, Amalickiah asked to be named second in command of the armies. Sure enough, when the smaller army awoke and saw that they were surrounded, they pleaded with Amalickiah to join the much larger army so they wouldn’t all be killed. Amalickiah wasn’t content with being second in command. His goal was always to reign over all the Lamanites.

Here’s where the moral of the story begins. The rest was just background. Amalickiah has one of his servants administer poison to Lehonti in “small degrees” so that he doesn’t realize it. He doesn’t do it all at once. He does it little by little and little by little Lehonti’s health fails. Eventually, Lehonti dies from the poison and Amalickiah is chosen to be leader of the armies, later killing the king and taking over the throne.

I will not allow this site to be poisoned in “small degrees” by the likes of Cliff/Nephi/Milmom, his friends, and his hatred. I won’t be talking further about the One Utah sockpuppets. I really don’t even want to hear about them. I realize they’re going to write more on their site about me and this site. I don’t care. They can have their obsession. Let’s just move past this episode in our lives. The most righteous causes always cause the most consternation. I won’t be suckered down from my mount. Cliff’s constant attempts to log in as different people do nothing to further “spirited debate”, as his Nephi persona puts it. Even if I concede that Nephi and Cliff are separate people (living together?), that says nothing for how Milmom, Teresa’s Conscience, Crazed, and another new name you won’t see keep popping up with the same IP. Small degrees. The ban is reinstated. Darn those resolutions.

There is a purpose to A Soldier’s Perspective. It’s not hard to figure out either – it’s a soldier’s perspective. My goal is to bring out the news and perspective of those who have served, are serving, or about to serve (with a token Haystack thrown in ;) ). I recognize that this war hasn’t been the most seamless, perfect thing ever concocted. Soldiers have made grave errors in prosecuting this war. Some of our leaders have made mistakes in executing this war. Our political leaders, to include Bush and Rumsfeld, have made errors in planning for this war. That doesn’t change the fact that the war is a noble one. We aren’t fighting for power. We aren’t fighting for fame. We aren’t fighting for land. We are fighting for freedom.

My purpose is to get out the good news that is suppressed in lieu of more sensational stories about death and destruction. I make no bones about my frustration with the way this war is being fought in the media. And it’s not all the media’s fault. The Bush administration and Department of Defense are doing a terrible job of getting out the good news along with the bad. It really is up to military bloggers to provide this other side of the story. We write based off our experiences, our opinions, and our feelings. I have written on more than one occasion about something our troops did that was wrong. And I didnt’ take it easy on them. I’ve criticized the President, the military, specific commanders, and specific soldiers when they’ve screwed up. I’m not afraid of that. I just don’t dwell on it.

Okay, I’m going to end this diatribe. I’ve probably deleted at least three more paragraphs of rambling, but I’m sure you’re falling asleep by now.

(104) Readers Comments

  1. Very well said CJ and it sounds like you put a lot of thought into your decision. I couldn’t agree with you more. From the start, their aim wasn’t to have a discussion with us, but more to ridicule us and try to make us out to be the bad guys, trashing all of us and our troops in the process. You all are doing a fantastic job of sharing what you know, what you see and what you feel about the things going on in Iraq and around the world. Keep up the good work, my friend.

  2. Bravo CJ!! Thanks for all you do.

  3. Yes, you are not fighting for power. You are not fighting for land, or anything else useful. You are not fighting for freedom. You are fighting because you will fall for anything.

I don’t think you are bad guys. But, good grief, it seems like you guys will fall for anything as long as it has a couple words like “proud” and “freedom” around it.

  4. I’ve read the back and forth that went on and I don’t think this is a resolution that you should feel bad about breaking! Way to stick to your guns and protecting your blog and your readers! Thank you!

  5. Is the phrase “they’d already gotten their tails handed to them many times” actually in the BOM? I love when Zerahemnah gets scalped by one of Moroni’s soldiers.

    Cliff/Nephi/Milmom = Gadianton robber or king-men??

  6. OK, i have a question. If you are a mormon, you must have saved your own money to go abroad on mission as an elder. Would you be in iraq if you were doing it on your own money, and not mine? Because, if you were to come to my door with a tin cup to ask me to put bullets it in, I would tell you to come back on halloween.

  7. Last I knew, soldiers paid taxes just like you or anyone else. So yeah, I guess you could say that they would be in Iraq if they were using their own money, because they are!

  8. Daddy if you dislike this blog and all who are here so much why are you here?

  9. Daddy, that question doesn’t make any sense. First of all, I didn’t serve a mission. I joined the church late in life (a convert). However, if you mean “would I serve a mission to Iraq?”, the answer is that I would…when it’s safe to do so. Iraq is a beautiful country. The Garden of Eden is rumored to be there. David spent his time in the lion’s den there. If you’re asking if I’d go to war on my own dime, the answer is no. Why would I go to war alone? That’s not war. That stupidity.

  10. Terri, I guess you’re right. I am paying for this out of my own pocket. Though I think I used more bullets than I paid for. :D

  11. You milDupes must have to work really hard to keep up your pride. Given that you are using the money of people who don’t want to spend it, to fight a war they don’t want you to fight, in a country where the people want you to leave, for a president and his men who who all ran away from war themselves, for reasons that even they admit were lies.

Yup, you must work pretty hard to be proud of all that.

  12. sax, I’m sorry, when did you say you served again?

  13. Yeah I’m sure CJ. People like daddyphatsax don’t tend to look at the big picture and see that you all are not only paying for this with your taxes, but with your blood, sweat and tears as well.

  14. proud proud proud. Hero hero hero. Freedom freedom freedom. Support support support. Sacrifice sacrifice sacrifice sacrifice. Thankful thankful thankful.

  15. Sooooooo, you’re saying you served when again?

  16. OK, sorry–is this only for people who have “served”?

  17. Yes daddyphatsax, we are proud of our soldiers, proud of the fact that THEY are willing to make sacrifices that people such as yourself aren’t, for our country and to help other countries. My suggestion to you is spend some time reading about ALL sides of this issue, learn about what is going on in Iraq. Look past all the crap the media feeds us and really dig deep to see the things that are going on over there. Sure some people in Iraq don’t want us there, but there are just as many that are darn thankful that our soldiers are there.

  18. No, not at all. I honestly didn’t think you’d served a day in your life – for anything. Don’t you think it’s a bit hypocritical to criticize someone when you, yourself, “ran away from war”?

Terri, I’d say more want us there than not. Did you get that Kuwaiti Times article?

  19. Yes I did get that article! Great read by the way and it really gives you more of an insight into what’s really going on over there.

  20. OK….good, we are getting a good debate going here. So far:

“Why are you here?” Not recommended. First of all, it is a rhetorical question, so the point is obscure. It seems to invite a sputtering response of…er, i dunno?? However, on the off chance that you want to know why I am here, here is the reason: I am very, very, very worried about democracy. Not in Iraq, in America. And I see the military’s support of the war as the biggest threat to democracy that we face.

    2. where did I serve? i didn’t. I won’t. I might go to iraq, for the experience, but I tell you I don’t fancy ending up in prison. Because I am pretty sure that the first firefight I was in, I would blow the head off of the nearest Blackwater contractor. And that would be frowned on.

    3. I ran away from war? And the problem with that is….? Didn’t know killing people was a virtue. And the excuse “but, he TOLD me to” won’t cut it much with the Judge.

    4. You guys are making sacrifices? Um…so, er, what? Who asked you? Did I? And are you “loan sharking”? That is, “make sacrifices” or shut up? So, in otherwords, you are going to take away the freedom of speech of anyone who doesn’t kill on command?

Anyway, I am here to represent the view of the Americans that you supposedly are sacrificing yourselves to serve. Do you want to listen or not?

  21. Anyway, I am here to represent the view of the Americans that you supposedly are sacrificing yourselves to serve. Do you want to listen or not?

  22. I do have a serious question. I think i know how to solve the thing. I really want to know what you think.

  23. Do I think it is hypocritical for me to criticise people who do things that I don’t do? Hmmm…not sure. Kind of think the opposite might be true.

  24. I don’t recall anyone saying that your freedom of speech will be taken away if you don’t agree with us, join the military and heaven forbid have to kill someone. If you want to have an intelligent ADULT conversation, great…. we welcome that. But if you’re just here to take potshots at our soldiers for doing their jobs, then quite frankly, you’re wasting my time.

Sometimes, I worry about democracy as well, but not for the same reason’s as you. Our soldiers are doing their job, period. What worries me about democracy, is people who try to force their opinions down my throat and all the while scream at the top of their lungs that their “rights” are being violated, while not being willing to assure that they’re allowing people who think differently than them, their rights.

  25. So how do you know that the Kuwaiti Times article wasn’t paid for with taxpayer money? Or with heroin from Afganistan?

  26. “Our soldiers are doing their jobs. Period. ”

No, Mafia hit men are doing their jobs. Period.

Our soldiers are losing their arms and legs. Comma.

  27. How do you know that the crap the media here in the United States isn’t bought and paid for with any of that? You don’t.

  28. You can think differently if you want. The difference is, you have a hand grenade in your hand.

  29. Terri, what part is not adult?

  30. Is it the part where you dress up, march around and shout?

  31. Which is more likely? For example, is it not a fact that President Bush said “I don’t think anyone anticpated the levees could break?”

  32. But seriously–OK, I want to understand Terri. What is “crap” in the US media?

  33. Yes, that’s the great thing about living here in the United States. I’m FREE to think as I want, believe as I want and to express my beliefs, without fear of government interference. Those are rights that soldiers, such as the people who post here, have fought for since this country has been in existence. We’re allowed to have differing opinions and many men and women have died so that we could.

As far as having a hand grenade in my hand. Nope. I’m sitting here in my home, in front of my computer, with a Diet Pepsi in my hand.

  34. So what is the crap?

  35. You know, if it weren’t for soldiers, I wouldn’t be typing in English

  36. We in America have become immune to news that is positive and upbeat. If you spend the day watching the different news channels, very few every show anything positive, because that’s not what sells in America. Instead, American’s want to see things that are sensational. Because that’s what “sells” in America, that’s what the news reports. Forget about “fair and balanced”, that’s not what America wants to see. Instead, they want to hear about the guy who walked into McDonald’s in the neighboring town and opened fire on the people inside, or the person who was driving drunk and caused an accident that maimed or killed people, or about the insurgents in Iraq. RARELY do you see anything about the lady who wanted to give to others and goes out of her way to do good deeds for perfect strangers, or the people who work together in Habitat for Humanity to ensure that a needy family has a home, or the thousandds of Iraqi children who now have a school that they can attend. That doesn’t get them viewers or readers. THAT’S what I mean about the CRAP that comes out of American media.

  37. Oh. That crap.

  38. Like…lessee…blood on the highway.

  39. last good deed i did was…was….

    um….

  40. …er…no, wait! it was….

  41. daddyphatsax, I think it’s great that we live in a country where we’re allowed to have opinions that are different. But, before you criticize someone who’s opinion differs from you, maybe you should become educated on all sides of the issue.

  42. oh yeah. i gave a gutter bum a bottle of Irish Rose.

Last time i ever do that…

  43. All sides of the issue? What is your side?

BTW, I don’t live in America anymore. My ancestors were given land in the Ohio value for their service in the American Revolution. But you know how they say, “if you don’t love America, leave it!”? Well, I don’t follow the advice of fools, but I left america because it is so ugly and full of fools.

  44. Once we opened up the opium production of Afganistan to fund the CIA, that was when it was time to clear out.

  45. I guess that’s where you and I differ. I go out of my way every day to try to do something for someone else.

  46. What is my side? My side is that our soldiers need the support of people at home. If you’re no longer living in America, then I guess your tax dollars aren’t paying for this war anway. So what’s your beef?

  47. he puked on my shoes

  48. Of course i pay taxes.

My beef is that I cheer every time I see that an american soldier was killed in Iraq.

  49. CJ, just want you to know that I support you 100%. You walk your talk, which is becoming more unusual these days. I admire that. Besides I agree with most of what you say! (grin) Seriously, I thank you for all you do. Especially trying to engage the Code Pink people. Biggest hypocrites I’ve ever seen.

  50. Code Pink people are people who are more afraid of the boogeyman than they are of Osama bin Laden.

  51. People who don’t need a grenade launcher and a whole platoon to feel secure.

  52. I fully agree Maggie. CJ is and always has been a man of the highest integrity.

  53. CJ is a man?

  54. well, hello friends and fools…I go on a brief hiatus, and look what happens!

Sheesh, CJ-there is a whole lot of peeing on the carpet around here, huh?

What I never cease being amazed by is the morons and fools who go to someone else’s house and pee on the carpet the way daddy and friends seem so excited in doing.

Guys, dissent is fine and dandy, and disagreement with writes and commenters is …well, part of the price one pays for venturing forth into the public domain. You seem more interested in throwing out one-liners and taking cheap shots for the adrenalin rush of seeing whether you can get the goats of those of us who come here to share news and information and spread the word about the good we find in our Military and their efforts.

Sure, hating Bush, or ranting the “peace at all costs” meme, or even calling soldiers babykillers (which you freaks simply LOVE saying to soldiers on an internet screen but would never dare do to their faces in public) is all fun and games, but this is NOT YOUR HOUSE…and you can be shown the door whenever CJ feels like spending the time to show it to you.

Any of you nutjobs out there that want to come in to someone else’s house and hurl insults or randomly slap the other guests in the house can be expected…at any time…to be shown the door and hopefully with a kick in the tush on your way out.

Happy new year to the rest of the ASP family…the ones I care about anyway…

  55. About Osama bin Boogey, fred, I look at it this way: everytime Bush or Cheney or Rumsfield of Coco the Clown mentions Osama bin Laden, I just substitute “Bubba”, and see if it still makes sense. And it always does! Bubba wants to kill all Americans! Bubba is still at large! Bubba is a bad, bad, baaaaaaad man.

  56. Great seeing you again haystack? I hear you were in my neck of the woods recently. **pouting** because you didn’t stop by and say hi. LOL!

  57. Very funny, Fred.

Listen Haystack, consider me the welcome wagon. I would like to welcome you and all your little armed-to-the-teeth friends to reality. And here it comes….

  58. Never made it Terri-Trip had a family emergency…spent his whole time in TX at the hospital…am still trying to figure out a rain check with him-we were going to meet at TMFF and give him a tour…plus, he’s never been to Hood, so we are ALL a little disappointed…but family first and all…

  59. Quite frankly daddyphatsax, your idea of reality wreaks of too many days spent in the bottom of a bottle.

  60. I totally understand that haystack. Don’t hesitate to give me a shout when you get up this way. I’m looking forward to meeting you!

  61. First of all, not only did Iraq have nothing to do with 9-11, but 9-11 had nothing to do with 9-11.

No one knows what really happened on 9-11, or who did it. Care to refute? Nothing you say will stand up. I am not saying that a missile hit the pentagon, that coke turned into pepsi, or that god found my lost car keys. I am saying that whatever happened on that day, no one knows. The only thing we know is what Bush and his friends say, and we also know that they knowingly say counterfactual things–no one expected the levess to break, that Saddam had yellowcake, and that he got no warning about Osama.

So whatever happened on 9-11, it was a public spectacle designed to get everyones’ adrenalin going, and that is all we know.

  62. And, Mr. Haystack, I am afraid the “don’t piss on the carpet” argument stands up, either. It doesn’t fit with the “come give tribute to those who are making sacrifices for America”. If you are going to wear the mantle of my name as an american, you can’t tell me to I am your guest.

  63. CJ…calling CJ…Please oh please give me banning privileges…pretty please?

daddy, you are completely out of your ever lovin mind.
We all know planes hit buildings and people died…where were you, Tahiti?

It was a public spectacle all right, and those Osama Bin Laden look alikes the ChimpyMcBushHitler™ created for making this LOOK like an attack against Americans said so…every time they gave out propaganda videos…whew…you are gonna be fun big fella…

  64. piss-taker

  65. fred the one and only qualification for being able to converse here is to do so with civility. No reason for you and your friend to come in here and start flinging insults at people for no reason. I think we all agree that there have been some terrible things occur because of the war, BUT there have also been some very postive things occur as well. We don’t have a problem discussing any of it and giving our opinions about any of it, and we do so frequently.

  66. When you say “Osama”, say “Bubba” instead.

Have you ever met this Osama character? He sounds like a bad sort.

  67. Insults? When I said piss-taker, i meant fred.

  68. fruitbar?

    you mean me?

  69. Is it okay to insult fred?

  70. Looks like fun CJ, these fools continue to pop up with some of the strangest arguments I’ve ever seen.

  71. Woops, fools

  72. Yeah Anthony, I have to agree there.

  73. Right. OK. Strange arguments. OK, so how do you know that “Bubba” was behind 9-11, and why does that matter? Would it have mattered if we just substituted another name at random, say, “Osama”?

  74. And by the way Terri, yes, I am an alcoholic. Well spotted. Feel better now?

  75. I suggest rehab.

  76. I won’t argue with someone as illogical as yourself.

  77. First of all, “Fred’s” comments have all been deleted because he’s really Glenn H from One Utah. On to Sax…

Okay, sax, you make no sense at all. Allow me to show you the error of your own ways. First of all you talk too much and that’s your initial downfall.

You said: “I ran away from war? And the problem with that is?.?”
Well, you tell me. You’re the one that made it a problem when you said we were fighting for a “president and his men who who [sic] all ran away from war themselves.” So you’re saying that isn’t a problem now? You’re like a walking contradiction. Next.

You said: “Do you want to listen or not?
Not, really, no. But I have a feeling that won’t stop you.

You said: “Do I think it is hypocritical for me to criticise people who do things that I don’t do? Hmmm…not sure. Kind of think the opposite might be true.
Well, you might be right if you were talking about a child molester or violent criminal (though I’m sure you’d falsely argue Bush fits that label). But your comment is like criticizing someone who doesn’t bathe when you haven’t seen a bar of soap since you kicked out of the house at 16. Or criticizing a person who drinks too much as you eat your breakfast of cheerios in vodka.

You said: “So how do you know that the Kuwaiti Times article wasn’t paid for with taxpayer money? Or with heroin from Afganistan?
I can’t wait to see the proof of this.

You said: “Once we opened up the opium production of Afganistan to fund the CIA, that was when it was time to clear out.
Can’t wait to see the proof of this as well. As a matter of fact, present me with the evidence and I’ll help you bury the CIA in negative media.

  78. Wow, a lot to read here. I could respond to a lot that daddyphatsax and friends has said. I will quote him here, “Anyway, I am here to represent the view of the Americans that you supposedly are sacrificing yourselves to serve”

Well, you DON’T represent ME or my views.

CJ, thanks for all you do.

  79. Daddyphatsax, you said, “Anyway, I am here to represent the view of the Americans that you supposedly are sacrificing yourselves to serve.”

Well, you DON’T represent ME or my views.

CJ, thanks for all you do.

  80. Holy moly! what have we here? Been busy with the holidays and family things and haven’t been able to keep up here this past week. My, my ~ the things some people will say…and believe.
Terri, bless your heart for trying to debate people who don’t seem to know the definition of the word. No matter what the subject it always seems to come back to the evil that Bush does. A true debate is a discussion of opposing points backed up with facts.
I love a good debate ~ the back and forth of different points on an issue, where each side’s statements are respected, if not agreed with. IMO, personal attacks and insults have no place in a debate. Name calling belongs on the playground.
Haystack has it correct ~ this is CJ’s house and as such that should be shown some respect and courtesy. Just because we’re all pretty much anonymous here shouldn’t mean that manners and consideration go out the window. My own rule of thumb is if I wouldn’t say it to the person’s face in public, I don’t say it in a comment thread or in a post.
I appreciate coming to CJ’s blog because of the level of civility he tries to keep here. I’ve learned a lot from all the comments as well as the posts. And a differing viewpoint helps me clarify my own thinking on a subject.
Civility and respect go along way to reaching an understanding of someone else’s perspective. I still may not agree with the person, but I will better understand why.
So, Happy New Year to all ~ looking forward to this year’s debates!

  81. Me too yankeemom, me too. How else can we learn about and understand others, if we’re not willing to listen to their side of the story and do so in a respectful manner. Unfortunately it seems that some people aren’t aware of what “respectful” means.

  82. Is daddy trying to win the “Most posts in one day” award and the “I am full of crap” award all in one day?? Wow!!

  83. Pingback: Yankeemom

  85. CJ, that’s one resolution I personally thank you for not keeping. I tend to avoid the blogs whose commenters are just trying to stir up something with no facts and with no reasoning power. They only serve to irritate me, so why would I subject myself to them? There’s debate and there’s nastiness. I think we can all recognize which is which.

  86. Pingback: Chromed Curses

  87. I find it interesting that daddyphatsax says he wants to debate but all he has done is throw out insults. Are you sure he’s not from one utah? Can we pretend he is?
I’m happy with your decision to ban one utah and I was never happy with that New Year’s resolution anyway.

  88. I have a list of those commenters who I choose to ignore – whose “coments” I will not read. It just got a bit longer. Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR Y’ALL!

  89. Agreeing with those that have said there is a difference between debating and just throwing out insults. All I’ve seen “daddy” do is hurl insults. Nothing constructive to debate.

I mean is this comment really something to debate? “proud proud proud. Hero hero hero. Freedom freedom freedom. Support support support. Sacrifice sacrifice sacrifice sacrifice. Thankful thankful thankful.” It’s just silly insults. How do you respond to this?? This is not intellectual, thought out debate.

  90. Daddyphatsax, what are oyur sax full of? Crap?

  91. Wow! DaddyPhatSax, did you do all that research in your a**?

-CJ, if this statement is innappropriatte please remove this statment?

  92. For the record, DaddyPhatSax won’t be posting anymore. No more Mr. Nice Guy.

  93. I’m curious why daddyphatsax is coming to us with a Japanese IP address. Two possible answers; 1) American living abroad 2) Someone using a proxy to hide their true IP address.

daddyphatsax, you’re welcome to get my email address from the sidebar to the right and send me an email explaining why you’re coming in with a Japanese IP address.

  94. Daddy = coocoo for cocoa puffs!!!! Maybe even Japanese Cocoa Puffs.

  95. Yah for CJ!

  96. Daddyphatsax isn’t living in America anymore M. He hates America and what it stands for sounds like.

He even hates our soldiers. His quote which really got my dander up was, “My beef is that I cheer every time I see that an american soldier was killed in Iraq.” Grrrrr!!! Such lunacy makes me mad. He could be a terrorist, who knows.

Anyway, thanks CJ for banning him as well as the others. Sometimes you can’t pet snakes, they bite!

  97. A scorpion, being a very poor swimmer, asked a turtle to carry him on his back across a river. “Are you mad?” exclaimed the turtle. “You’ll sting me while I’m swimming and I’ll drown.”

“My dear turtle,” laughed the scorpion, “if I were to sting you, you would drown and I would go down with you. Now where is the logic in that?”

“You’re right!” cried the turtle. “Hop on!” The scorpion climbed aboard and halfway across the river gave the turtle a mighty sting. As they both sank to the bottom, the turtle resignedly said:

“Do you mind if I ask you something? You said there’d be no logic in your stinging me. Why did you do it?”

“It has nothing to do with logic,” the drowning scorpion sadly replied. “It’s just my character.”

Thanks , CJ, for stopping the madness.

  98. Oh man! I always miss the good stuff! Well, I WAS going to suggest that y’all stop arguing with stupid people. That guy didn’t make sense. Also, I wanted to point out that he probably supported Clinton when he was president and his half-@$$ job of doing something about avenging the USS Cole and the embassies that were bombed in Africa (in 1998) and other things along that line. Then I wanted to point out that Clinton was the biggest runner of them all when it came to wars. I mean, at least Bush WAS in some sort of Armed Forces…but where did Clinton go? It was OUT of the USA. Anyway, I’ll shut up now. That was just one thing I wanted to post for that stupid Fat Sax man. Oh well…maybe next time I’ll catch the good fights in here! Oiy…off to read what Cj meant about wives’ honors…but that may have been deleted as well…dang.

  99. By the way, there shouldn’t be a link in half @ $$ up there…and hopefully one just didn’t get put in what I just wrote up there! LOL! I was trying not to cuss but let y’all know what I meant anyway!! LOL!

  100. Just for the record, the CIA and FBI did not certify that the attack on the Cole was conducted by Al Quaeda until Bush was president. Bush is the one who rightfully should of done something about the Cole.

  101. That’s funny, Al Quaeda claimed responsibility for that from the start. Once they did, then why didn’t Clinton do anything about it? Maybe because he was too busy, “getting his pipe smoked” by interns?

  102. Oh, Hawk, how wrong you are. Less than one month after the bombing of the USS Cole, on November 11th, preliminary results came out that pinned blame on AQ. Yes, that was 4 days after the election, but Bush wasn’t President then – he was President Elect. By late November, it had become and “unproven assumption”. As early as December 21st, we had enough information, a “preliminary judgment”, to retaliate for the USS Cole. Clinton was still President. At least you’ve come to your senses that Bush “rightfully” retaliated. Too bad his predecessor didn’t.

  103. Did you read those reports? It said both State and DOD had reservations about retaliation but in never came to a head because no definitive answer ever came from the CIA. And Bush NEVER responded once he got definitive word from the CIA.
