I’m making this an open thread, but I wanted to also share a good news story that I couldn’t really find the right words to describe. So, I’ll just post what FightertownUSA.org posted on their website:

FIGHTERTOWN USA IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR AVIATION SUMMER CAMP FOR AUGUST 2007. THE FOCUS ON THE CAMP IS TO PROVIDE FREE FLIGHT TRAINING TO SELECTED CHILDREN OF THE SERVICE MEMBERS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIFE IN THE WAR ON TERROR IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. FIGHTERTOWN USA IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE STEPHEN M. PRICE FOUNDATION IS SPONSORING THE AVIATION CAMP IN APPRECIATION TO OUR ARMED FORCES MEMBERS WHO HAVE SACRIFICED ALL FOR FREEDOM. MORE INFORMATION COMING SOON.

Feel free to use this thread to comment on this story or just talk about anything on your mind. Off the record, I just want to say that Samantha Davis is a cutie (go to the site, you’ll see)!!

  1. I’ve got to say, this is the coolest thing! What a great show of support!

  2. What an awesome way of showing the children of these fallen Heroes that they’re NOT forgottn. Thanks for sharing Patriot!

  3. Very nice effort on behalf of the kids, and nice site here that I drop in on from time to time. But what about the kids whose dads or moms are seriously injured? In some respects, they will suffer far greater repurcussions over the years. It may be time to simply change course; and I am really frustrated by the leaks coming out of the White House these past few days suggesting that high level officials believe the middle east effort is lost already. If that is what they believe, I wish they would just say it publiclly.

  4. I can’t speak for all of the military posts, but I do know that on Fort Hood we’ve got several programs for the children of injured troops. With Fort Hood being such a large post, we have a lot of community involvement in things of this nature.
