Thanks for all you’ve done so far, but this is the final stretch. I’ve decided to pimp myself for votes after work. It may work, but I’m afraid it’ll backfire like it did for Matt from Blackfive when I started showing naked pictures him.
Old News: A Soldier’s Perspective is now firmly in the lead thanks to all of you. All of us at ASP are appreciative beyond anything you could imagine, and I’m sure the Ballerinas will be, too! While we have a firm lead as of now, that can quickly disappear as it has already happened once. We still need everyone to vote!

WE’VE LOST THE LEAD!! My a difference a matter of hours makes. SGT Hook has been drafting B5 for some time now, but made his move to pass and slingshotted past us as well. We gotta be relentless. Those little girls need us more than that.

Update from CJ: Current standing is ASP in the lead with 268 votes, followed by Blackfive (251) and SGT Hook (232). Hook is coming up strong, so don’t let down your guard. Thanks for everything you’re doing. Keep spreading the word and helping us make this a reality for these little girls.
The race is heating up. With only one week left to go, we’re in the lead, but we still need your help. If you have a blog and you have one reader or 40,000,000 please post this contest there. If you have a mailing list, send it out to everyone you know. If you’re a member of an online group, post something on the message board. “It takes a village.” (Did I just quote Hillary?). Go to work and tell your friends and coworkers, tell your fellow day care parents, write your Congressman. If you speak another language, call the embassies of the world. If your camel has internet access (David), sign him up. It’s free an only takes a few seconds. Remember, the money is being donated to the Camp Lejeune Ballerinas.

Update from Cpl M: I just heard from CJ that we have tied Blackfive for the lead, and Sgt Hook is very close with 209. Thank you to everyone that has voted! They have announced that the poll will close on 23 January at noon CST, so there is still a good amount of time left in the contest. I you haven’t taken a moment to vote, please do so. Remember all proceeds are going to the Camp Lejeune Ballerinas.
I just got the email about it. We need your help. We get about 500 or so unique visitors here every day and we appreciate it. If each of you just take a few seconds and vote, we stand a great chance of winning. Please head over to the VA Mortgage Center website and click the bubble to vote for A Soldier’s Perspective. It’s the third or forth from the bottom one. Please pass the link along to your friends and mailing lists as well. Proceeds will go to the Camp Lejeune Ballerinas. They are trying to raise money to purchase lifesize cutouts of deployed fathers that the girls can dance with onstage and send to their dads in Iraq. So, get off your tuff and VOTE!
Additionally, don’t forget to check their mortgage options. This is one of the few places I believe in enough to advertise for on this site. Look around the main site and see if you can yourself, or a vet, some money as well.

Let me also say for the record, that if we’re beat by Blackfive or Sgt Hook, I can’t think of anyone else that deserves it. There is some great competition in there. Heck there are great milblogs in there that aren’t getting a lot of votes, like Anthony. However, the difference between 1st and 2nd place is $2750. So, of course I want to win.

May I suggest recruiting OneUtah for the effort? I have seen discussion on the site hinting that a lot of those folks are supporting ASP in this effort, but a request from CJ or Cpl.M to OneUtah may put ASP back in the lead. They are a stubborn bunch at OneUtah, but they have their hearts in the right place.
PS I know for a fact that both Cliff and Nephi voted for ASP!
