A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
The first night of a two night season premiere of the Greatest Show on Television starts at 8 (7 Central) this evening. I will be cheering as the terrorist body count starts to climb courtesy Jack. If you don’t watch 24, you’re wrong. I’ve seen the first four hours of this season, but I’m still going to watch tonight and tomorrow night. Trust me, they are good. Oh, wifey and I will also finish watching season 1 on DVD tomorrow. I’ve seen the first season, Anna hasn’t. Man, it sure is awesome to have a wife that is excited about 24.
How about a little food for thought. I find myself wondering what would happen if some of the attacks in 24 happened in the real world. Do you think we could stop/prevent any of the types of attacks seen in the show?
Oh, and if Jack Bauer ever cried, his name would become Chuck Norris.

I can’t wait! I think if we were on the sharp end of any attacks like in 24, I’m afraid we’d have to clear any response through Botox Pelosi.

I have never watched it, sounds good. The reason is that, I always thought that Kiefer Sutherland was a Quimby,
Not that there is anything wrong with that, just don’t want to watch.

Thats a bit inappropriate, Gunther. . .
But anyway, watch a few episodes. You may be surprised at how good the series really is.
Gunther
Ok, the asterisk screwed up the link, my error, sorry, I idiot added it.
Cpl M
Dood! Didn’t I just say the link is a inappropriate?
Gunther
Sorry. I posted the 2nd link after I noticed my error, before you posted. Scratch it. It may be good, but no matter how the character is portrayed, the KS image will be there. Couldn’t take it seriously.
Inappropriate?, don’t ask don’t tell I guess. The Quimby lifestyle is legal and accepted in these 50 states, and in an open civil union, like what just passed in Jersey, is very common and will soon be taught in schools, in sex ed. I learned about the Quimby lifestyle in my freshman year when I lived in California, in the SEX ED class we all were required to take. 1978. It was not curricullum, but you know how curious teens are, student brought it up.
Freedom, it’s what you are fighting for.

Do not begin to lecture me about freedom. Did I once say that I disapproved of the lifestyle you’re talking about? No, I did not. Adults are not the only people who read this blog. There is no reason to expose children to that subject matter without their parents prior consent.
Gunther
I will comply, if this is a family blog, but I know you are laughing. Kids and the internet, I imagine that if they can read about soldiers being blown to bits, the definition of a Quimby isn’t much now is it? Any problems here would be the responsibility of parents to police with regard to cintent and their kids.
I wouldn’t let my kids read this blog, because graphic descriptions of violent death are onsite. They are too young for this. I would let them learn about such violence, at about the same time I would let them learn what a Quimby is.
Freedom, it’s what you are fighting for. Hardly a lecture. When did you tell your kids where babies come from, so i can know where the line is. When you tell them about that, you can tell ‘em about Quimbies.
