A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
A few months ago, the remains of a veteran from the Vietnam War were returned to his family in GA. After all these years, the Soldier will now receive a proper burial at Arlington National Cemetary. The Georgia branch of the Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to accompany the Soldier to his final resting place and so has Kat Orr. As you know, Kat is a humble supporter (much like all of you) of our troops. Unfortunately, making the trip would break her financially. Hotels in the DC area BEGIN at around $125 per night. Even up where I live about 20 miles away, they cost more than $100 per night. She’s only staying two nights and I’d like to ask for your help. Kat provides refreshments at every possible PGR event that accompanies our fallen troops. So, for those that want to help, any money donated through the Paypal Donation link to the right will go towards helping Kat make the ride to support the PGR accompanying our fallen Vietnam Hero. Thank you in advance.

aw, dude… you made me cry! *sniffle snifle* thank you! I would like to state for the record that I am not “expecting” any help from anyone at all, that the financial responsibility for getting there is SOLELY my own. Each and every person who attends this will be making a great sacrifice financially and I don’t *expect* to receive help in any way getting up there… this post just blows me away and leaves me very humbly grateful….

Update: Hubby and I will be sharing a hotel room with a buddy of ours, and splitting the cost — so the hotel fare wont’ be nearly as frightful as we’d feared.
Work has granted me the time off for the trip…and it’s all starting to fall into place! HOOAH!
