Yeah it's amazing what people will believe, all because "they said it on the news." Kind of scary how much control the media has over some people's belief systems. Thanks for posting this CJ. I posted an article about this as well over at ASM.

Thanks CJ for the articles. I couldn't believe that the Times was reporting that. Maybe there is hope for the world Ha!

I hear that all the time on tv that there's a civil war in Iraq, matter of fact I've heard it for a long time now. Some people continue to believe that.

All I have to say to the Times article is...no duh! I don't find any of the "unexpected" results actually unexpected. Nation building is long and difficult especially in building a Democratic-Islamic nation. If you think about it, the Kurdish areas that are doing so well have been in nation building since the last Iraq war.

People seem to fail to understand that in a civil war, a country is fighting it out with itself. That's not the case in Iraq, since there are more people trying to build a bridge between the Shiite, Sunni, and the Kurdish. Really, that just goes to show you that peace can exist in a warzone and conflict can exist within a peaceful nation. You don't have to have a war for a nation to have crime and civil conflict. Having a war is no reason to think that the rate of crime and civil conflict is higher either! I read about this in the Times. Great find CJ, thank you.
