  1. This is so sad. That roadside bomb must have been huge to kill all 6 soldiers. I appreciate Canadians standing with us in this war on terror! God Bless the families of these men who were killed!

  2. CJ, I believe these Canadian troops past over in Operation Archer in Afghanistan, not Operation Athena in Iraq. Since I think Canada pulled the plug on Operation Athena and haven’t been in Iraq since then. Just thought I should let you know. Anyway, I did stop by DutyInTheDesert blogsite and it truly was an interesting story. I found it important to hear what these Canadian soldiers’ fellow troops had to say about them, and I hope to God that their families can pull through these extremely tough times in their lives as best as they could. Another interesting post from DutyInTheDesert blogsite is the article titled “Anbar:Turning The Corners”, and it basically shows how a Marine Commandent is proving that a colonel who said last year that “Iraq’s insurgency is getting worse and there is little our troops can do about it” was wrong because Anbar is fixing it’s number one problem, not violence or hate, but the scarce resources in a part of the Middle East that is almost as poor as a Third World nation and almost as violent as a slummy gang riddled city. I just thought you would like the info, Hope that I was able to help you on the Canadian soldiers thing. Later, CJ! One more time, my condolences goes out these soldiers’ families and this truly is a tragic event, my heart goes out to the Canadian Military.

  3. Thanks CJ. I also did a post on TB about these soldiers…one of the soldiers injured in this same blast is in Landstuhl right now, so we KNOW he is in good hands…. I also heard that we lost 2 more Canadians yesterday….yet another reminder that we are all in this together. I did a post a couple of weeks back on my Coalition country profiles – Canada was the focus…..interesting reading for non Canadians to see just HOW we are involved…

As always, the families of these heroes are on record as saying their sons supported this mission and loved their country.

    God bless them all……
