I bought the domain www.soldiersintraining.com. Below you will find what I have on the front page for now. What I need help with right now are people that support our troops and are willing to help me create the site, find soldiers in training and American willing to be pen pals. If you are willing to donate some time to the cause, please email me at whiterose@soldiersintraining.com. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The purpose of this site will be to connect those persons that are in basic training for all military branches and the American public that supports them.

While my son was in basic he saw many of his battle buddies that did not get much, if any at all, from home or their family. While I was in basic, I saw the same thing. I gathered a list of names and sent it to some great friends of mine that were willing to write my battle buddies. As they started receiving the letters and cards from strangers in support of what they were doing, I saw a few more smiles on some faces. The attitudes improved and their mental capacity to handle the intense training also improved.

It is my hope that through this site, I will be able to connect more “Soldiers in Training” with the American public that supports them. Till I get the site up and running, those interested in being a pen pal to these brave people or those that know of a Soldier in Training that would like to receive mail, can email me at whiterose@soldiersintraining.com.

Please understand just because you email me for a name, or to be written to does not mean that you will automatically get a name or get letters. For the security and safety of all, there will be a little interaction and questionnaire to fill out to make sure that everyone is who they say they are and earnest in their desire to support these new soldiers.

Thank you!

  6. Wonderful Idea, WR!! I remember sitting at MEPS with my daughter each time she went there (she was DEPS) and I would have a flock of kids sitting with me, telling me that either their parents weren’t talking to them because of their decision to join up or they hadn’t told their parents because they would be really, really PO’d or they didn’t have family. Broke my heart.
We made sure at Devon’s Basic graduation that there weren’t any graduates without family left alone or without a hug and congratulations. Fortunately, all were adopted by families for the day.
