SPC Joshua Revak has written an album that includes many songs he wrote for soldier memorial services while he was in Iraq. Joshua was hit by a mortar and is in Germany right now. The album is called “In The Hours of Darkness” and is available for $10 through his MySpace page. The album was written as a tribute, but “I did include some songs influences by other aspects of the war, all feelings bad and good alike,” Josh says on his site. “I am very happy with the way that the entire thing came together. It will be so nice to finally have a finished product.”

Josh lost friends in Iraq and credits music with getting him through the hard times. “We’ve lost a lot of brothers. It gets tougher every day,” he says. “The only way I’ve been able to deal with that is to write music.”

Though I haven’t heart the album yet (I just ordered my CD today), a few of the songs are available on his site. I love Bad American for it’s honest cynicism and Empty Boots for the reverent honor that Josh pays to those who have fallen.

His music has also been featured on the movie “The Soundtrack to War”. You can also hear an interview with Josh HERE.

  1. Hi Josh,
I was hoping to get in contact with you. If you could please email me I would deeply apprecaite it. I would also like to keep this confident. Thank You

  2. Josh,

I am wondering about your singing a breast cancer survivors song..Breast cancer is rampant in this country, and I think it could be a great seller. I also know another musican in Duluth you could duo with. She has two CD’s out…Peggy Anderson, Mrs. Jim Anderson (you know Jim)
    What’s your e-mail?

  3. Josh,

You are a true patriot. If you need a job, I may be able to help. 10th Mountain, 2006-2007. Thanks for caring for our fallen. 270-268-2239.

  4. I loveI this country dearly and deeply appreciate what you are doing, but I wish there was something better to do for the wounded soldiers than taking them out to kill other living creatures. I know I sound like a bleeding heart liberal but I’m not. I’m a die-hard conservative who just loves animals and I just think more killing is never the answer. But God bless you for caring about our troops.
