and Uncle Jimbo means to spell it out for you…

My milblog idol, Uncle Jimbo over at Blackfive, has a message for our Democrat friends that more adequately and succinctly captures my OWN opinion on the matter than I was able to do myself.

The text of his original post became this youtuber, and as he rightly suggests, the anti-war crowd needs to understand something:

I hate to butt in on the political posturing and feeling each other’s pain, but I have a news flash for all you folks who are ready to hit the off switch on this war and MoveOn.

You can’t end a war, you can only win it or lose it. Movies end, meetings end, wars are won or lost and the cost associated makes that a vital distinction.

While our Political heroes bandy about with their varying proposals of defeat dates, er, I mean, withdrawal dates, people are still dying and getting blown up.

Last month there were 100 or so American kia. If the Hildebeast wants to coordinate a withdrawal for October 2008 (not at ALL intended to be associated with elections…REALLY…she would never contrive political opportunism at the risk of Soldier’s lives…REALLY!) then at that kia rate, why, she’d be facilitating 1,800 more deaths while she garners votes. And God knows how many innocent Iraqis. After all, she and her co-conspirators firmly believe either the killing will stop the day we leave, or the lost Iraqi lives are of no concern to her and hers anyway.

I say again…end funding today, or shut up and do your jobs. And, Uncle Jimbo (who gets the last word here) agrees:

[I]f you want to end this war that is causing you so much angst and anguish then grow a pair and vote to lose it now. Rescind the President’s authority to conduct the war and shut off the funding immediately.

If not, then SHUT THE (expletive removed in deference to the posting guidelines) UP and stay out of the (expletive removed in deference to the posting guidelines) way!

We are trying to end it too, just by winning.

God but do I love the way this man thinks.
