Matt Sanchez Embedded in Iraq

Remember my post from January about Matt Sanchez, a Marine reservist, facing anti-military sentiments at Columbia? I learned today that he is currently embedded here in Iraq and has a new blog where he is writing. I emailed him and it turns out here is right down the road from me at the moment. I’m not too sure we’ll be able to link up, but it is crazy that he is so close. Everyone needs to check out his blog and keep up on his writing. He is one of the good guys.

    Oh wow, small world, huh? I exchanged a couple emails with him several months back when I first heard the story…sounds like a real nice guy. :)

    Thanks Cpl M for the link to Matt’s blog. I went over there and it looks awesome! I will be reading it in the future.

    That is crazy that he is so close. It would be nice if you guys could visit!

    We were close together, but to get from one base to the other you have to cross a bridge and that means getting into the Humvees and having at least two accompanying vehicles.
