A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
The New Republic has been so interested in doing whatever they can to trash the President, the war in Iraq, and the Soldiers fighting for freedom. So, when Scott Thomas, aka “Pvt. Scott Thomas Beauchamp, of 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry”, approached them with accounts of Soldier atrocities and other crimes in Iraq, they must have begun salivating uncontrollably.
We were already halfway through our meals when she arrived. After a minute or two of eating in silence, one of my friends stabbed his spoon violently into his pile of mashed potatoes and left it there.
“Man, I can’t eat like this,” he said.
“Like what?” I said. “Chow hall food getting to you?”
“No–with that [expletive deleted] freak behind us!” he exclaimed, loud enough for not only her to hear us, but everyone at the surrounding tables. I looked over at the woman, and she was intently staring into each forkful of food before it entered her half-melted mouth.
“Are you kidding? I think she’s [expletive deleted] hot!” I blurted out.
“What?” said my friend, half-smiling.
“Yeah man,” I continued. “I love chicks that have been intimate–with IEDs. It really turns me on–melted skin, missing limbs, plastic noses … .”
I remember getting an email about this and a friend asking me what I think about it. I immediately replied that there is NO WAY in hell that this could be true. Soldiers are not like that, especially toward fellow Soldiers who have been injured. But, Beauchamp wasn’t finished. He wrote about how a Soldier who found part of a mass grave (really a family burial plot) scooped up the skull of a child and wore it on his head like a crown or a fellow Bradley driver who would intentionally swerve his armored vehicle to run his tracks over dogs chasing his vehicle.
Beauchamp was hailed as an anti-war hero. Finally, an “honest” voice from a Soldier not afraid to speak the truth about what was going on Iraq. The left’s suspicions that Iraq was corrupting our troops to the point of illegal, immoral behavior was confirmed. Surely, Bush would have to pull us out now. Just wait until the Iraqi people find out about this. Abu Ghraib would become a footnote to this recent scandal.
The story has proven to be false by Beauchamp’s own admission.
The Army said this week it had concluded an investigation of Beauchamp’s claims and found them false.
“During that investigation, all the soldiers from his unit refuted all claims that Pvt. Beauchamp made in his blog,†Sgt. 1st Class Robert Timmons, a spokesman in Baghdad for the 4th Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, said in an e-mail interview.
The Weekly Standard said Beauchamp signed a sworn statement admitting all three articles were exaggerations and falsehoods.
However, TNR is sticking to their story. How many more of these liberal darlings do we have to catch red handed as frauds before they see the light of day?

Why are they sticking to their stories? The soldier admitted he lied, and nobody even in the far far left is going to believe what he is saying.

I find it appauling how some of these “rags” will do anything and everything they can think of to trash our Troops, in their ultimate goal to trash the President. Pretty disgusting and shows that their paper is nothing more than fodder for the anti-Bush crowd.

Just sick. So many of these left wing RAGS hate President Bush and the military so much they have become like a rabid dog. You can only put the beast down. Which is slowly happening. Look at air america, the New York Times. All are losing readers and people who listen to them. To bad we can’t speed it up though.

New Media Alliance has a piece on this. I sent it to CJ and posted it on my blog.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming:
I guess this assclown must get off on Micheal Jackson since he specifically mentioned plastic noses…
words fail me…
well, not really, but CplM would kick my butt if I said what I really think.

Allons, come on. There are right-wingers who hate Bush too. It’s a part of being president and the more controversial and serious the events of the time period when you are presiding as president, then the more there are going to be people who hate you. In fact, what about left of center, left wing americans who don’t hate or even like Mr. Bush like Senator Joseph Leiberman? Left winger and Bush hating should not be lumped into one category. Bush hating is a stupid, psuedo-intellectual, and dysfunctional form of thinking on it’s own.

You know what? I’d like to change my comment and apologize for my misnomer. You know where I said, “Bush hating is a stupid, psuedo-intellectual, and dysfunctional form of thinking on it’s own.” Well, I know falsely called it a form of thinking, I take it back. It’s a form of dangerous denial based on loyalty to one’s selfish politics over their country which will lead to our ultimate downfall more so and even quicker than radical religion, terror, facism, or narrow mindedness in general(try telling this to OneUtah, just a suggestion since it’s not worth the bandwidth or oxygen if you wind up speaking to one of them). So let me rephrase my comment!
- “Bush-Hating is a stupid, psuedo-intellectual, and dysfunctional form of dangerous denial of it’s own”. not a left or right wing crack pot conspiracy.

It’s called BDS…Bush Derangement Syndrome and it is a mental disorder,
just like paranoia, or schizophrenia…it’s based on irrational thought processes which cause the person to think he or she is so important, the Bushbots are coming to get them.

I love it when they call me a brown shirt fasicst working for Hitler (aka Bush).
My standard repsonse is: “If Bush really WERE like Hitler, you’d already be crispy”.

My post was directed at the lib media. Yes I know many on the right hate the President, that comes with the job.

If the everyday rank and file American looked at the ongoing levels of integrity with which both sides carry out their designs, they would never vote for a liberal again, and they would support the war in Iraq with near 100% vigor.
Maybe they feel that because Bush deceived us into war (and he did to some extent, but the level of deception is in the eye of the beholder) that they can lie any which way to get us out.
