A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
Could you image seeing someone with a shirt that said, “Not In My Town, Scumbag.” I can honestly say that would cause a double take on my part. Well, one town in Pennsylvania is sending that very message to the unsavory types in their town. What does this have to do with the military? Everything.
(CBS 3) UPPER DARBY, Pa. Authorities in Upper Darby are making it known that they are fed up with crime through a message on custom made t-shirts that read: Not In My Town “Scumbag.”
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood came up with the idea for the shirts, and never expected soldiers fighting in Iraq would be donning them.
“It was basically to tell the drug dealers and those people who destroy the quality of life in our community that they weren’t welcome here and that we were going to lock them up and throw the keys away. They took off, they exploded,†said Chitwood.
A township councilwoman sent a shirt to 25-year-old Army National Guard specialist Valerie O’Donnel, who has been serving in Iraq for the past year.
“Next thing you know we were sending over, through her mother, an entire platoon,†Chitwood said.
32 of the t-shirts were sent over for the 25 men and seven women in O’Donnel’s unit.
Chitwood was thrilled to share his slogan with the soldiers and believes the t-shirts hold a universal message.
“I think the message is the same whether you’re a scumbag terrorist in Iraq or a dope dealing scumbag in Upper Darby Township,†he said.
The shirts cost ten dollars and the money raised goes to the Officer Dennis McNamara Memorial scholarship fund at Upper Darby high school.

It requires an incredible amount of intellect to be able to use the word “scumbag”. And to actually be able to put it in a sentence, that’s even more amazing then a chimp wiping their own ass.
Marcus
The same intellect it took for you to come up with your chimp comment, I’m sure.
