There is another article out on the troop surge. You know, the one that “is not working”.
From this base in insurgent country south of Baghdad, there are no doubts that the U.S. decision to pour 30,000 additional troops into the fight has had an effect…
Today, commanders point to the sharp drop in Baghdad attacks — down in August to a quarter of what they had been, according to the top commander Gen. David Petraeus — as evidence of their effectiveness.

The insurgents, like any smart retaliation regime, are not going to stand there while 30k U.S. walk in over them..would you? They are temp. retreating as a strategy to allow little b to “think” his “new” “idea” is working,so in a few mo. ,when the American want it now have it now TV10 min. syntax mentality will wane,The patient,Koran style, 1000yr. mentality will kick in and allow this to pass, then they’ll go about their bussiness as usual..just like the Viet cong did. And sooner,(I’ll give it 2 yrs.)not later, the 200yr. old U.S. idea of bomb ‘em & clean up & democracy will give it’s due to the guerilla fighter, whereever they may be.. & no, I did’nt like Saddam either, but the real criminal here is the defense contractor,U.S. and or private, take your pick.
