The many who suffer health issues because of the cleanup effort. Also our military who are paying a heavy price for our freedom and to protect us from this blight on the earth. We sit outside in the evenings and it was so quiet, eerily so, the only thing up there were the occasional jets, military, that were patrolling the northeastern corridor. I don't know what other parts of the country have had on tv on this most solemn day, but here it started early with the reading of the names of every person killed, the tolling of the bell when the first plane hit, then the second, then again when the first tower fell, and again when the other went down. They finished reading the names almost 4 hours after they started. The line to go down the ramp to lay flowers in the reflecting pool is so long, and what I noticed today, 6 years later, was the same grief, the same tears as I saw 6 years ago when those same people were standing on the streets with signs, "Have you seen this person?" I was awakened at 6:30 a.m. I'll never forget the quietness of the day. I lived about 2 miles from an airport. The only air traffic was the local police helicopters flying over every 10-15 minutes. I still cry when I think of the families & the lives lost. I agree Sue, I'm ignoring pathetic CF's bs. It is a stark contrast to September 11, 2001 when it was a cool, crisp incredibly clear day in NY, and the sun was shining and the sky so blue. It was such a beautiful day. Then shattered by unspeakable evil. Let us never forget that day. Thoughts and prayers are with all who were lost, for those who are ill from the clean up efforts, and to the families still mourning the losses.
