I would suggest calling your local Dillards store and see when they are putting on this event. Our area is Dec. 1st and 2nd. So better to be safe than sorry and miss out.

Actually, if you call 1800-345-5273, the discount days are Dec. 2nd and 3rd! Very conflicting stories! And she also informed me that it includes police and fire personell! But does not include reserves.

“Yes you served, and thank you.” That’s what you say to someone who gave 28 years of their life, knowing they could lose it at any moment? “…it’s about the soldiers now!” While I agree that the current service members and their families are enduring trying times right now because they are actively dealing with war, many veterans continue to endure trying times for the wars they served in decades ago. Many of whom, such as the Vietnam veterans, are still coping daily with broken bodies, broken minds, and broken spirits. They didn’t get the love and support of caring people like you back then. They got spit on…literally.
I’m not trying to scold you. I just want to give recognition to the fact that military members and their families continue to sacrifice long after their service. Just because someone is “retired” it does not mean they are “living on easy street”.

Besides, if more people are offered discounts, there will likely be more people shopping in that store…i.e. spending money…i.e. helping the economy. It’s a win-win situation! ;-}

we should be lucky they are even giving any type of discount. Yes you served, and thank you. Maybe you should get some sort of discount, but the soldiers that serving now should get more.And the spouses/family members, come on, it’s about the soldiers now!

It always moves me when the US communities and businesses show support for our armed forces personnel. These are the businesses I continue to frequent. I’m an avid Dillard’s shopper, always have been. And in the past I have made sure I took advantage of Dillard’s Military Appreciation Days. However, I retired after 28 years of active duty service, shouldn’t my service to my country, like so many other retirees/veterans, still count? Let’s not forget their years of sacrifices.

It is very nice for Dillards to provide this benefit to our active military. I have but one question. What about all the retirees who proudly and honorably served their country for 20 years? What about the spouses and families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and died to protect the freedoms of their country? It seems that with all the good intensions, these catigories of military are all but forgotten. Again, thank you for remembering our military currently serving but what about the rest of us?

The dates of the 2007 Military Appreciation Days is actually the 5th and 6th of December.

Please post a correction on your site so that all parties can be correctly informed.
