A soldier tells it like it is about the war and the troop surge. I wish CNN would air this… Why can’t the liberals admit successes?

This guy is a shill for the Bushies. I spent 547 days at Al Asad and feel qualified to say, “hogwash.” This guy does a wunnerful job of telling it like the Bushies want it to be told. The problem is that it is not reality. Sure, spout some facts that can be backed by statistics, but totally ignores our reason for invading in the first place. Our reason for invading in the first place was based on [I am no longer going to be a part of this "Bush lied" crap. Liberals are using Hitler's dictum that if you say something, even false, long enough and often enough, the people will accept it as fact and not question it. So, I won't let it be said here because I've provided ample evidence it just isn't true I won't help spread Hitler's doctrine. Sorry. -CJ The Censor]. Smedley Butler had it right almost 70 years ago when he said that war is a racket.

CJ, what is the context of this young man’s speech? I guess I’m living in a hole, but who was he addressing and where?
As for the previous commenter, all I can say is keep living 4 years ago. Iraq and its citizens and the young man who spoke in the video are all wanting to live in the NOW and get Iraq on its feet NOW, not live back in 2003 and rehash that shit because people are dying at the hands of AQ NOW. Get over yourself.

JD, the good General you love to quote would never have agreed with you and ‘code pinky’ that our Marines and Soldiers are the bad guys. Don’t you see, ALL of your comments become suspect right out of the box? With a little less HATE, some people might even try to understand your comments. As it is, we tune you out as soon as you talk.
LL, you make some good points. Haditha (for one) is a lot different today, then it was in 2005.
Wonder what capacity JD actually served in Al Asad and when. Al Asad, Haditha, and Hit are three entirely different bases. The experience at any one of them would be different then either of the other two.

CJ, I’ve adopted the same policy on my blog. It’s a nutbag radical-lefty-free zone. Post once like the idiot above and your comment account is closed forever.
Where did this speech take place?

Ken, just once either acknowledge or post a positive story about our heroic troops and I’ll stop editing out your diatribes. Just once you need to acknowledge the good we’re doing over there. It’s not that hard. – CJ

“Is your censoring indicative of milblogs?” No, Ken. I’m probably the only ass who can’t stand people like you. But don’t worry, I’d still jump on a grenade for you or take the pointy end of a sword thrust in your direction. I just don’t want you here and I’m entitled to that since this is my site. If you don’t like it, feel free to start up “Ken’s Perspective”. Since you have no respect for me and my brothers and sisters, I won’t respect you either. Take a hike. I’m sure there are other milblogs more than willing to deal with your loser attitude. Baaaah. – CJ

if you want to jump on a grenade for me, reposition yourself in the Southwest where the real war is taking place. “jumping on a grenade for me” anywhere in the Mideast means [Ken doesn't realize the real threat, as discussed in the Sheep post - CJ]. Leaked CIA reports…[are illegal! - CJ]

Nothing illegal about the war in Iraq except maybe in your imagination, Ken. Guess what, the President and Congress can and did declare war. And if you want that power, then convince America that you’re worth giving that power to.
Ken Hoop
Congess did not declare war, just as it didn’t in Vietnam-which is why Jane Fonda was free to do what she did with no penalty. And thanks for giving me the chance to say, that Iraq is merely a desert version of Vietnam.
