A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
As you can tell, I’m sick of the crap by some of the trolls, yes trolls, that I’ve tolerated for quite some time. This whole “Bush lied” and “the war is lost” psycho babble won’t be spread any longer here. If you don’t like it, this is a free country and there are plenty of people who will tolerate you. Is it censorship? You betcha!! And I highly encourage to go where you won’t be censored for being an idiot. When you can’t admit good news when it’s right in front of you, I have no patience for you. This is what it sounds like when armies lose:
“There were almost 600 fighters in our sector before the tribes changed course 360 degrees . . . Many of our fighters quit and some of them joined the deserters . . . As a result of that the number of fighters dropped down to 20 or less.â€
“We were mistreated, cheated and betrayed by some of our brothers who used to be part of the Jihadi movement, therefore we must not have mercy on those traitors until they come back to the right side or get eliminated completely.â€
“The Islamic State of Iraq [al-Qaeda] is faced with an extraordinary crisis, especially in al-Anbar province. Al-Qaeda’s expulsion from Anbar created weakness and psychological defeat. This also created panic, fear and the unwillingness to fight.
“The morale of the fighters went down and they wanted to be transferred to administrative positions rather than be fighters. There was a total collapse in the security structure of the organisation.â€
These are quotes from letters seized during a US raid on an Al Qaeda safehouse. Because of the fact that we ARE winning have won, AQ is now having to recruit children because the adults have learned which side is the right side to be on. Our troops in Iraq have done extraordinary things securing the country and helping Iraqis get on with their lives. There are more prospects for prosperity now than any other time in their lives.
The terrorists know this and are resorting to drastic measures to maintain their agenda. I’d had a video up on YouTube of the training tapes of children, but someone complained to YouTube and they took it down – even though it didn’t violate any of their policies that I could see. I’ve since tried to upload it again and have written the site administration for an explanation.

Yeah CJ, way to go!! I’m sick of all the Bush lied group too, when will they ever quit spouting their lies about our president and the war!
Snooper
Not to sound too “mean spirited” or anything but…
IT IS ABOUT TIME!
I am going to “pimp” a post on our blog that ALL of us conservatives must adopt to combat these worthless and useless idgits of the anti-Americanist ilk.
http://www.anewtone.com/2008/02/fairness-doctrine-is-not-in-place.html
We do NOT suffer fools AT ALL on our blog. We have got too much at stake to slow down and rehash idiot lies from idiotic morons.
HOOAH?
Step out and draw fire!
SSgtJ
Well done CJ. If they want to come in “our house” they should show some respect. Do these ‘trolls’ actually believe that crap they are spouting about ‘Bush Lied’, etc?
We don’t drink the ‘right wing’ kool aid on this site, why should we have to listen to the ‘left wing’ kool aid? Thanks CJ.
Nice post about the AQ letters they found.

The problem for the Republican Party in ’08, at least part of it, is that the false Drumheller meme, “Bush lied, people died” has sunk into the public consciousness. It’s just become kind of an acceptance that Bush and Cheney lied, and that Iraq has been a disaster and entered under false pretenses. Pounded into our heads by a lazy and often biased media.
I think it’s important to quell the disinformation; the myths floating around out there.
I’ve been pouring through Dick Cheney’s Meet the Press interviews, and it’s amazing just how much we have been led to believe that Cheney or Bush “said this and that” as proof that they lied; yet when you go through what was actually stated, their statements have been either misremembered, misunderstood, misquoted, or willfully spun.

Bravo CJ!! It’s been a long time coming. A good discussion is a really good thing but when it pulls everything off topic and becomes so convoluted that it isn’t worth reading any more, then it has become a problem. And I don’t believe its censorship, just selectiveness!! lol There is no reasoning with a troll, they are ineducable and belong in a “special” place where they can have their fill of their Kool Aid.
Critical Facts
There may indeed be no reasoning with a troll, but when the trolls are stating the same thing that a majority of the American citizenry is stating, then you have to sit back and wonder …

You can wonder many things about the link above, among them how can Americans have dived into an immoral pit of political sociopathy, which calls blood-soaked violent anarchy as reported by Cole on Iraqi violence yesterday
“victory?” Under the rules of Geneva, the occupation is responsible for restoring order shortly after incursion and thus, the occupation is responsible not just in the eyes of Iraqis (whom you claim to have “liberated” and won the war for, but who know better) but in the eyes of international law.
However, I suggest you merely content yourself with “wondering”
at all the Moslems in the world, along with the erstwhile “neutrals,”
who read blogs like this and observe with their own eyes how amoral
Americans have become, calling widescale blood shed among innocent Arabs, “victory.”

Great post CJ, but don’t censor these pricks. Let them mouth off, at best it can be very entertaining. On the other hand, it will give us more practice with word fights with these people.
Please don’t censor them, I hate them as much as you do but censorship drags us down to the level of the Dems.

Just because ignorant people say ignorant things over and over and over again it doesn’t make it so. Ignorance is ignorance no matter how you package it. And you keep stating that your ignorance of the truth is in a majority and I have yet to see one piece of proof of such. Oh other than your ridiculous polls which we have already established that you can make say anything you wish with the proper wording.
No matter how you slice it, you are only basing all your arguments on the hatred of one man and nothing more. That is the most blindly ignorant perception there is.
Critical Facts
Isaac:
Allow me to suggest something to think about. Cencorship would actually bring this website into harmony with the majority of right-wing blogs, and not, as you say, to the level of Dems. Right-wing blogs near universally refuse to hear opposing viewpoints (RedState.com comes to mind) – opposing views are censored immediately and the authors banned. On the other hand, left wing blogs generally welcome opposing viewpoints; rarely will a left-wing blog censor any comment, no matter how pro Bush or military or whatever. Regardless, I think we agree that cencorship really only results in a very boring book – it provides only that the same thing will be said over and again to the point of ad nausea.
CJ
Well, CF, I think I’ve done quite well at allowing opposing point of views. But I will NOT be a party to passing along your communist mind washing and repetitive leftist slogans.
As for the leftwing blog issue, sure they let you post. Then they all come down hard on your with profanities and acid laced epithets! Then they edit your comments or delete them all together.
Maybe if you had something new to offer, I wouldn’t have to be such a proud censor. Instead you droll on about the same one liners, regardless of the subject matter. I will continue to censor those one-liners and if you get bored, I’m sure there is somewhere more exciting you can hang your hat. I don’t mind writing a “very boring book”.
This is not a right wing or a left wing blog. It’s a Soldier’s blog. If the Soldier’s perspective happens to be right wing, well I guess we know where the Patriots come from, don’t we? Why aren’t there that many left wing Soldiers anyway?
Isaac
CJ,
GREAT CHOICE OF WORDS!!
CF,
I think CJ has explained it clearly enough. Besides, I personally would not listen to a person who said that I drink Right-wing Cool Aid just because I think Vietnam was the right thing to do. Look up a map and find my country, then you will see how close the commies were to taking over when the US stepped in and paid for my freedom.

Yeah, I know what you mean (and I haven’t taken the time to read any of the comments above). A “cousin-in-law” posted something about Obama on his MySpace page, and I asked him what, substantively, he liked about Obama (this question, from watching news/op-ed programming, is usually answered with “he’s a good orator”). In his reply, he brought up several items that are the lefty CW (“9/11 happened on Bush’s watch” being one example). I haven’t been able to take the time to properly refute the points he made. And I will have to support anything I send him – he’s a journalist (and, I had forgotten, a poli-sci minor; funny, the times I’d been around him before, I never took him for a lefty-liberal) who covers politics (recently graduated, early 20s) and I guess has some amount of time to “research”, so I’ll have to do the same. Just figure I might check in with you, CJ, since I think you’ve already done posts on these topics. No sense in repeating work already done. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to this little project until at least Wednesday…
Flag Gazer
Congrats CJ – it is a good move. I hate reading a very moving piece and coming to comment and seeing the off-topic lies spit all over the place. There are plenty of right-wing political blogs that allow them to do that – no need to disrespect the tributes that you write.
And Mr Hoop does plenty of it elsewhere. Mostly he cuts and pastes others work – if he writes it himself, it is rarely comprehensible – and, always about failure. He argued with me one time over a chaplain and commander being the same person. Another time he wanted a SGT to outrank a MAJOR. He is pathetic. His only point is failure.
No one will ever accuse these people of being critical thinkers or that they post anything that contributes to a discussion. Hate filled rhetoric rarely does.
Sharon
I agree with your decision, C.J. Keep up the good work here. The posts here are needed to counteract the insanity. They are honest and written from the heart.
