Vets for Freedom is making its way to DC with its Heroes Tour. Check the map to see if they are coming to a town near you. For those of you near Nashville and/or Fort Campbell, I plan on being present for those two appearances. Also in attendance will be David Bellavia, Pete Hegseth, Marcus Luttrell and other. I’d love to meet you there if you can make it.
Miss Ladybug has a post up with pictures and wrap-up about the Austin stop. Check it out.
On another note, my commander has granted me leave to participate in the Vets On The Hill event scheduled for April 8 in D.C. I will be meeting with members of Congress to present another view of the war in Iraq than the IVAW veterans recently.

Thanks for the link, CJ! And excellent news that you will be able to participate in Vets on the Hill. When you’re in TN are you just going to be attending, or will you be a participant?? That, too, is cool. I felt okay about going up to Uncle Jimbo and introducing myself since I comment over at B5 a lot, and I’d even had email communication with him about the tour stop, but I would have felt so unworthy to just walk up to any of the others and start talking to them. What do you say, especially to someone like Marcus Luttrell?

You just say, hi! hehe

CJ,
I’m so glad that you will get to give your view of the war when you go to DC. That will give you an opportunity to counterbalance the IVAW group. Good for you and for our country!!

It will be interesting to see how the news about the U.S. troop death toll reaching 4,000 in Iraq over the weekend will impact this tour and similar efforts. (I’ve blogged about this at http://veterans.lohudblogs.com.)
