Oh, this was good! Of course, I am late for the "ball" here! I read through pages and pages of postings and was wondering why you had to cease. Crazy, now the joke was on me! Keep on blogging!

Hmmm. Good one, CJ!

As some of you know, but most of you don't, I have represented detainees at GITMO in habeas proceedings and have done a fair amount of behind the scenes work for the ACLU; I have also represented soldiers pro bono in domestic cases during their tours of duty in Iraq and the poppy capitol of the world.

Notwithstanding our disagreements on most issues political, however, I would have come out guns a blazing for CJ on this issue were it true (as would have my colleague Cliff at 1U).

Having said that, I am somewhat surprised at how the entirety of the readership of ASP swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker. I find this fact to be analogous to how the stubborn 29% still buy what comes out of the Decider's pie hole, hook, line and sinker!

You have a very obedient followship, CJ, and I trust, therefore, that you will never stray out of bounds of that trust. I am still amazed that not a single on of the readers of the blog (myself included) fact-checked the veracity of your post.

At any rate, well done!

Cannoneer,

While I can understand an artillery man being ultra-serious about discharging of weapons, if you have visited this blog for any amount of time you surely know that CJ has a...well-developed, devious, sense of humor, as in the dress pattern-as-a-map incident - lol.

Soldiers from time immemorial have played some questionable, nay even cruel, antics upon each other. True brothers-in-arms understand this need to laugh in the face of the unlaughable; those that don't get this have too much starch in their uniforms!

CJ, this was a classic! Well done, 1SG.

First they came for the Communists,
- but I was not a communist so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists,
- but I was neither, so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Jews,
- but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out.

And when they came for the milbloggers, there was no one left to speak out because other milbloggers thought hoaxes were funny so nobody took the threat seriously.

Negligent discharge of weaponized ridicule.

Yeah, and if this is what it takes to lose a friend, then i say he's better off. Now, i think it's time for me to take a step down from my higher ground and let this go.

Hate mail over a joke? OMG! It's sad that some people don't appreciate a sense of humor. You're right Emily, CJ has been ornery and full of mischief for as long as I've known him. Sigh...... I kinda love his sense of humor.

That was a bottom of the litter box joke (said in a catty way LOL). I really thought it was true. I haven't posted here before but have been reading for several months. Next year will have to not look at posts at at the end of March till after April 1 so I don't get fooled again.
