Well, I hate that I missed Morton's comments; but love the CJ response. SPOKEN LIKE A TRUE Soldier! (everyone is attracted to you.. men & women! LOL!!)

Seriously, though, even with all the activities going on around me, I'm always reminded that it was a man (or woman) in uniform that allows me to participate in life.

Morton,
Excatly what "truth" are you talking about Morton?

CJ is in the Army, has been to Iraq, so I ask, who are you to argue? Did you warm the frozen hearts of the Iraqis to the concept of freedom? No? WELL SHUT UP THEN.

CJ,
LOL, nice. But I suggest you don't ban him, he spawns interesting and often funny responses such as the one you just gave.

Really CJ, just leave him be, he is funny.

Folks, unfortunately I can't be on the internet 24 hours a day, unlike the BUMorton. So, I can't moderate him all the time. He also likes to jump IPs but I'm closing in on him with each post and he won't be a problem for too much longer. Just ignore him to the best of your ability and know that as soon I get the chance, his comments will be deleted. I have banned him from commenting, but like any good asshat, he will keep finding a way around it.

Personally, I think he's sexually attracted to me and I'm both disgusted and flattered that now BOTH sexes find me utterly irresistible. I'd send him an autographed copy of my 1SG photo, but those are so rare that I don't want to cheapen their worth!

In response to Morton and his disgusting remarks ~ might I remind you that many of our Heroes and Warriors DID NOT get their parade. Many probably would have preferred simply NOT to have a parade as opposed to the "welcome home" receptions they got; I daresay because of zeroes such as you.

Yesterday as members of each branch of the military along with the Old Guard were placing American flags at the graves of every fallen hero buried at Arlington National Cemetary Marine Sgt David Gray was quoted as saying, "It's a privilege to be alive and able to support those Marines who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country," he said. "We can't bring them back. The only thing we can do is honor them and pay tribute to them."

This is OUR nation. These are OUR Heroes. OUR defenders of freedom. When a whiney a$$ like you makes a comment like you did it angers me to no end. Perhaps that was your goal. Regardless, NOTHING we do, say or build in honor of our Heroes will ever be enough to show our respect and appreciation to them and their families. NOTHING.

Morton ~ it is YOU that I spit on for every single one of those Fallen Heroes and every single Soldier, Marine, Airman or Sailor past or present who has served or currently serves this great nation.

Although I certainly don't agree with Morton, personally, I think Father Denis Edward O'Brien, USMC, said it Best:

"Remember...It is the Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, Whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Veterans Day recognizes the contributions of all Military personnel, but Memorial Day, begun on May 5th, 1866, when veterans and residents of Waterloo, New York, placed flowers on the graves at each of the town's cemeteries to honor the local Soldiers and Sailors who had fallen during the Civil War, is a recognition of those who paid the ultimate price, so that the rest of us, to include Morton and those like him could continue to live in freedom.

I'm sure, none of those who perished wanted to die, and those who served along side of them have long maintained that there but for the grace of God go I, but nothing could or should ever diminish their ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our freedom and country.
