Wow, we’ve been hit by a few crazies in the last few days. The spam filter caught them all, so I will not be providing links or approving the comments. Censorship? You bet ya! I’m not going to approve comments that attack the authors here, the military, or our mission in vile ways like these crazies did. Instead, I’ll just tell you a little bit about our trolls.

The first winner comes from IP address 68.157.63.225 which traces back to the Orlando area. He found us via Vets for Freedom and had nothing at all to contribute to the post he commented on. Instead, he would like CJ to parade himself around wearing his medals and also wonders when CJ is going to run for office as a hero. I know CJ well enough to know he won’t ever parade himself around nor will he run for political office. He loves taking care of his Soldiers and won’t stop doing that until the good Lord calls him home. So, wilbur/Donald, go troll somewhere else.

Our next guy claims he is AWOL, and is 11bravo which I can only assume is Army infantry. He found us by Googling “3id awol” and we are the first site listed on the search. His IP address of 71.201.34.65 traces back to the Springfield, IL area. He claims he is only AWOL to take care of his ill mother. If that is the true case, I’m sure he didn’t exhaust all his means to take care of his mother prior to going AWOL. His comment was posted to CJ’s post about getting the death penalty for going AWOL, and is riddled with obsenities. However, I’m willing to give this kid a chance. Eric, you’re welcome to email me and tell your full story. My address is linked to the right. If your story turns out to be true, I will do everything I can to ensure your mother is taken care of while you fulfill the oath you swore.

The next winner found us by searching Google for text from a Memorial Day speech. Ed Brunn (IP address 198.107.1.207 from Denver suburb Centennial) claims he is a veteran. If so, thank you for your service, Ed. But I gotta say you are a complete loon now. Your personal attacks on the authors and readers of ASP aren’t welcome, so go hug a Berserkly-ian and join their pointless protests. Oh, and sending the exact comment over and over again won’t get it posted if you’re flagged as spam. I do believe I shall leave you in the spam box.

The last crazy to be profiled tonight could be a neighbor of Ed! He found ASP by Googling “hot to get biggest reenlistment bonus.” I can only chuckle at why someone would Google such a thing. His IP of 75.172.107.38 traces back to Denver and Jimmy is a man (boy?) of few words. His idiocy is short, simple, and to the point. He would like “wimpy” (He used another word not safe for a family blog, use your imagination) to eat human excrement. What it really sounds like is someone who couldn’t quite cut it to join the Few, the Proud. Jimmy, I understand your sense of lacking, but really. You couldn’t hang, life goes on.

There you have it for the crazies we’ve had visit in the last few days. I hope you enjoyed seeing the silly stuff we get here on a regular basis. I’ll post more of these in the future when one really strikes me as really crazy!

  1. Nice work hitting them Marcus, but it would be nice if you did not censor them, gives us the laughs on the spot.

Reminds me of this video I found where the guy did the same for baseless critics. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/37-Mailbag-Showdown

  2. Some of us “crazies” are right here in eastern North Carolina. Semper Fi.

  3. Hee! Hee! Thanks for the chuckle Marcus! Keep censoring I say! :)

  4. That’s good to know JD, but they’re also everywhere else. Just wondering, why do you often post Semper Fi after your comments? Don’t get me wrong, I know that it is a Marine Corps phrase but what’s your reason for using it in the blogosphere? Don’t Marines only use it when in the heat of battle?

Anyway, that was a great post, Marcus. It’s always interesting(as well as funny, every now and then) to see what “the trolls” have to say. Sometimes it helps us prepare our own sarcasm in response(especially when they repeat the same stuff over and over again), and other times its good for a little chuckle.

  5. Refreshing to know the spam filter is catching the majority.

It will be interesting to see what those filters will do with me when VA doesn’t refuel me with the meds they prescribed before withdrawl, pain and muscle spasms set in. I really turn into a carmudgeon. I’m looking forward to NOT testing those filters.

With Obama winning on the Dem side you might need to share those meds.
