A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
For my 4th of July post, I’d like to share a poem by Roger Robicheau. It was written back in 2003 and is an inspiring piece of work called “Home of the Brave“:
Through the feel of war they brave this day
How proud they stand, their unselfish wayOur soldiers bear what we cannot see
They assure our right to live life freeEach trained will face an unknown fate
Our support they need, don’t hesitateJust imagine how this land would be
Without their courage – catastropheAll the liberties we have grown to know
Would not exist, this life would goFind a thankfulness within your mind
Speak gratitude for our bravest kindHave the willingness to show you care
For fallen heroes, hold back no tearReach out to God with his guiding light
For our troops do pray, both day and nightAmerica raise your flags to wave
For we truly are ‘home of the brave’

I hope everyone has a truly safe and wonderful 4th of July weekend. Please take care to watch out for others out there who don’t have your best interests at stake and drive safely.
Roger wrote another poem I want to share as well. As the political season continues to ramp up, there is an obvious difference between the two candidates in a race to become the next Commander in Chief. One believes in the greatness of America and the other thinks that we are broken and that we are so far gone that only a drastic “change” can bring us back on track. America is the best country on this planet – don’t let anyone tell you any differently!!
This is Roger’s other poem called “Americans In Strength“:
Americans in strength unite
This union born in freedom’s lightUnited States, how sure we are
We’ll pull together, near and farThe world can see of what we’re made
Each state is of the highest gradeDetermination, filled with pride
Our people’s will won’t be deniedOur founding fathers set to stay
The road we’ve traveled to this dayA quest for right cannot be wrong
With help from God, we will stay strongSupport our troops ranks number one
For the job they do is never doneWhen forced they put it on the line
True patriots, when called they shineLet’s raise Old Glory with a cheer
And thank all soldiers, past and here©2002Roger J. Robicheau

Great poems you posted there CJ, but the liberals want “change”, frankly, I don’t see anything wrong with your constitution, but if thats the case, what “change” would we need?
BTW CJ, I recently created a blog. You may want to check it out.
CJ
Thanks, Isaac. I’ve added it to the blogroll.

Thanks a lot CJ.
