Today, I start my much needed vacation down to Pensacola, FL. We were supposed to go to Yellowstone, but the price of gas put the brakes to that pronto! We figured it would cost $600 JUST IN GAS to make that trip. I blame our Democratically-controlled Congress for idiotic legislation and lack of action and President Bush for not “taking the oil we went to war for”. So, things may get quiet around here for a few days as I take a break and relax a bit as well. Vacation is sort of like blog detox for me, so we’ll see how that goes. My best to Marcus in his travels. See you all when I get back.

Stay safe and have a great vacation, CJ. Same to you Marcus.

Have a safe trip! Although, I must point out that in 1999 I was paying .85 per gallon in New Jersey.
Too bad about Yellowstone, but Gulf Islands National Seashore is pretty nice. Are you are Ft. Pickens or a Ft. Barrancas aficionado? I’ve always enjoyed coastal fortifications. You do realize the very idea of the National Park Service is very socialist!

Be safe and enjoy your trip, buddy. Call my cell and gloat about the great weather!

I must respectfully disagree, however, with your premise that Congress has any responsibility for the current oil situation. Everyone knows the main cause is global warming that never existed until Bush became President. I’m just saying.
Sucks that you can’t make it to Yellowstone, but having lived in Florida for the last 24 years, I think you made a pretty good compromise, so enjoy. Cheers!

Happy travels, and don’t forget to blame Bush during your trip for the high cost of dining out and sunscreen. It’s all his fault, and McCain’s, too!

Hope you Emily and the kids have a great vacation. Stick your feet in the sand for the rest of us who are land locked right now.

Happy vacationing!! Vacations are a good thing! (Though for myself – the laptop goes with me…this may not be a good thing. I don’t know – I do know people who don’t take theirs.
All I know is mornings would be bizarre…)
Have lots of fun and giggles!!
