A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
For those of you that aren’t on my mailing list, I am starting a weekly podcast. It will be a live radio show in which I will discuss similar topics discussed here with some differences. For one, it is NOT an ASP podcast, it’s a You Served podcast based on my work over at VAMC. They are sponsoring the show and helping me with some of the technical aspects.
I have a lot of great guests lined up for the show. This Friday is the kickoff of the You Served podcast and will take place at 2200 CST. Unfortunately, I can’t get a better timeslot until I’m “established” with a regular listenership. You can help by tuning in or downloading the archived shows. This Friday I will be talking to Sgt. Freedom about his regular YouTube videos and military topics. I will also be talking about counter-insurgency and military politics.
On future programs, I already have other guests lined up between now and October to include (but not limited to): General Petraeus, General Caldwell, other military generals and senior officers and NCOs, BG(R) Fred Haynes (author of “Lions of Iwo Jima” and retired Marine Corp WWII vet), Jim Sheeler (author of “Final Salute”), and many, many others.
One of the more notable differences about this podcast is the live chatroom and ability to call into the show live! That’s right. You can put your opinion up against mine in a live environment. The show will maintain my standards of language and content. Additionally, the podcast is no way sponsored or endorsed by any government agency and my opinions are my own and not those of the VA Mortgage Center or my respective branch of military service.

CITY OF BILLINGS MAYOR RON TUSSING HAS HAD FOUR ETHICS VIOLATION COMPLAINTS FILED AGAINST HIM WITH THE BILLINGS BOARD OF ETHICS
by MONTANA NEWS ASSOCIATION
Billings Mt.,Aug 26, 2008–/MNA PRESS/–Billings Mayor Ron Tussing has had four ethics violations complaints filed against him, with the Billings Board of Ethics. A letter, signed by over 100 citizens, was sent to Judge Russell Fagg, in his capacity as Chair of the Billings Board of Ethics. The four complaints pertain to potential breaches of duty allegedly committed by Ron Tussing in his official capacity as mayor.
According to Montana Code Annotated 2-2-121, public officers are prohibited from using public time, facilities, equipment, supplies, personnel, or funds to solicit support for, or opposition to, local ballot issues. The letter to Judge Fagg outlines four potential issues, in which Ron Tussing may be in violation of Montana State law. Ron Tussing, in his official capacity of mayor, is a member of the Celebrate Billings steering committee and as such, actively campaigned for and supported the passage of the 2006 Billings Ballpark Bond Issue and the 2007 School District 2 Mill Levy. Mayor Tussing also campaigned against the 2006 Repeal of the 2004 Public Safety Mill Levy.
The complainants allege that Mayor Ron Tussing used Billings City time, facilities, equipment and supplies in support for, and opposition to, these ballot issues. The complainants attached over thirty (30) evidentiary exhibits, in support of their claims.
The Billings Board of Ethics will meet to review the complaints. The complainants have requested that all members of the board, who have been appointed by Ron Tussing, be recused from the review process. The complainants also have requested that Victoria Cech, whose husband serves on the Celebrate Billings Steering Committee with Ron Tussing, be recused, as well.
If the Board substantiates the complaints, the next step is to refer the complaints to the Yellowstone County Attorney%u2019s office. The county attorney may then launch investigations into the alleged breaches of duty and fine Ron Tussing between $50 and $1,000, for each substantiated violation.
Ron Tussing is running against Brad Molnar for Public Service Commission District 2.

Debt Protection Law, P.C. employs many retired veterans and spouses of veterans in different branches of the military.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Debt Protection Law, P.C. is girded for immediate action to defend the rights of deployed servicemembers dealing with violations of the SCRA. The ongoing giveback program recipient was determined at the monthly executive member video conference held in July; Executive Administrator, La Don Livingston, mother of four active servicemembers and wife of retired Vietnam veteran enthusiastically announced, %u201CI am proud to work for such an upstanding
law firm that believes in giving back.%u201D

Congratulations CJ, what a cast of guests you have. Good luck and may God bless you in this endeavor.

These complaints are filed by Don Cyphers (AKA Mike the poster of this comment) Mr. Cyphers is a convicted felon who was found guilty of impersonating an attorney and stealing thousands of dollars from a widow. He’s still mad that former chief of police Tussing saw to it that Cyphers was arrested and put in jail. These days, Mr Cyphers drives around Billings in a converted an old ambulance and calls it his satellite “command unit”. He claims to be “Mike” a reporter, yet has no television, radio or newspaper. Only a website called the Montana News Association. Mr. Cyphers and his clan filed complaints about Mayor Tussing for his support for the new baseball park in Billings and his support for a School District 2 mill levy that was successful in reopening an elementary school in Billings Heights, adding improved video security systems to the high schools throughout the school district and launching all day Kindergarten. Good for Mayor Tussing! He has been an excellent leader to make Billings a better community to live in. Thanks to his leadership and participation, Billings has a beautiful new baseball field that the majority of Billings voters approved. Also the mill levy for schools and another for safety improvements (a new fire hall for the west end) all passed by impressive margins. Mayor Tussing’s suggestion of a district wide recycling program has also been a great improvement for SD 2.

Hey Billings resident thanks to you I found this website. Looks like Ron Tussing has …well let’s say a history of being dishonest and corrupt.
BILLINGS MAYOR RON TUSSING, PSC CANDIDATE IN DEBATE AGAINST BRAD MOLNAR SHOWS HIS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE

Billings Mt., Sept 28, 2008–/MNA PRESS/–The more Billings Mayor Ron Tussing, PSC2 candidate, opens his mouth about energy, the more he shows he should keep it shut. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool%u2026
Ron Tussing said, in his closing statement at Wednesday%u2019s debate with District 2 Public Service Commissioner Brad Molnar: %u201CThe question to ask yourselves%u2026who%u2019s going to do right by me? Not who can quote facts and figures %u2013 all that stuff can be learned.%u201D
Let%u2019s deal with the quoting facts and figures part of Ron Tussing%u2019s assertion, first: Exactly when would Ron Tussing like to learn about %u201Call that stuff%u201D, as he so succinctly and eloquently put it? After he%u2019s been elected and starts collecting his $80,000 annual salary? More to the point, Ron Tussing apparently thinks being a Public Service Commissioner just means having the ability to parrot facts and figures, without understanding %u201Call that stuff%u201D, he is grossly mistaken.
Greg Jergeson, Chairman of the Montana Public Service Commission, in a phone interview with the Montana News, when asked about the ideal background for a candidate, responded, %u201CA person who can work through %u2013 plow through %u2013 the excruciating details of budgets, as well as financial and economic information; someone who has the capability and ability to understand the significance of the numbers.%u201D Jergeson went on to specify that a Public Service Commissioner needs to be patient, thorough, and have a good understanding of both the big picture and the details that go into that picture. %u201CYou gotta be able to meld the big picture and the details,%u201D stressed Jergeson.
According to Greg Jergeson, a Montana Public Service Commissioner needs to be able to %u201Cunderstand the significance of the numbers.%u201D According to Ron Tussing, a Montana Public Service Commissioner only needs to be able to %u201Cquote facts and figures%u201D, which %u201Cstuff%u201D can be learned%u2026apparently after getting the job.
Ron Tussing %u2013 amazingly %u2013 ended by telling voters to ask themselves, %u201Cwho%u2019s going to do right by me?%u201D
A short sampling of Ron Tussing%u2019s notorious history of NOT doing right by people follows:
Did Ron Tussing %u201Cdo right%u201D by the citizens of Billings, when he, as a former dirty Chief of Police, allowed %u2013 and quite potentially encouraged %u2013 the use of excessive force on the part of some his dirty underlings?
Did Ron Tussing %u201Cdo right%u201D by Officer Sandra Leonard, when, as Chief of Police, he referred to her as a %u201Cbitch%u201D in an e-mail to a subordinate, simply because Officer Leonard had objected to the Billings Police Department%u2019s breach of its duties under the Human Rights Act.
Did Ron Tussing %u201Cdo right%u201D by Officer Steve Feuerstein, when he (Tussing) e-mailed command staff, %u201COkay, let%u2019s play hardball. The Unit is out of control. I think Joe [Bryce] has a plan to get Steve [Feuerstein] out%u2026%u201D
Did Ron Tussing %u201Cdo right%u201D, when with sweating face, twitching cheeks, and darting eyes that blinked repeatedly, he lied on the stand %u2013 over and over %u2013 during the Feuerstein trial?
Did Ron Tussing %u201Cdo right%u201D by the citizens of Billings, when he bilked them out of a $160,000 settlement to leave his position as a dirty Chief of Police and then turned around and ran for Mayor?
Based on Ron Tussing%u2019s history with Billings citizens, who could possibly think that in the future, Ron Tussing would %u201Cdo right%u201D, by anyone?
