Our President and this site (we’re in good company) get a lot of flack for supporting our efforts in Iraq. In the comments section, liberals who have never been to Iraq like to call us robots or tools or whatever. The latest excuse they have is that the Gulf War was okay because we were ASKED for help, but the Iraqis never asked for help. Really? Could have fooled me.

Today, President Talabani Of Iraq said the following during a meeting with President Bush:

“I’m here on behalf of the Iraqi people to express my deepest appreciation for all countries who participated in the breaking Iraq from worst kind of dictatorship.

Of course, noble and responsible nations must bear their sacrifice in order to free the oppressed and bring citizens from the worst kind of dictatorship. Nevertheless, on behalf of the people of Iraq, I want to express my deepest condolences for your brave soldiers and civilians who have lost their lives while standing up for our shared values of freedom and democracy.

Thank you, Mr. President, for your brave leadership and your decision to liberate Iraq from worst kind of dictatorship. And thanks for all friends and their countries and governments who participated from the beginning to liberate our country and to bring a new Iraq, a democratic, federated. united, independent Iraq, which will help to promote democracy in the Middle East and help peace and security in the Middle East.

Thank you again, all of you, and you, Mr. President.”

Yeah, you probably didn’t see that in the news anywhere did you? Probably because it’s so damaging to the extreme liberal cause of failure (don’t bite my head off, David. There are exceptions).

  1. As you already know, he has expressed this gratitude before. Too bad the NYT and MSNBC refuse to actually report the news.

Thanks CJ, for bringing this to our attention.

  2. Thank you for sharing that….you’re right of couse … never saw that on the mainstream news.

  3. No worries, there are enough folks out here who read milblogs and support our troops to know we’re doing good work over there.

You keep reporting it here as well!

  4. Thank You CJ for posting this! I didn’t see it either on the news on tv. Some of us Americans would like to see the good news and what our men and women have fought for!

I think that in the future, fair minded people will look at the liberation of Iraq as a very good thing! I’m not holding my breath where the extreme left are concerned!

  5. Thanks for posting this. If I didn’t read the MNF-Iraq, CJTF-101, and the DOD public websites daily I wouldn’t have known about this before now, either. It is great to see this type of news get more exposure – please keep it up!
