A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
Everyone is entitled to their opinion about how President Bush did during the past eight years. But, it is still just your opinion. I’m a Soldier and my viewpoint is a little different than yours. President Bush has provided unprecedented support for our veterans. It is said that a nation’s character can be judged by the way it treats its veterans and its military. President Bush possesses the highest of character as evidenced by his actions. He’s been painted unfairly with a broad brush of failure, when in fact he has accomplished much.
On March 6, 2007, President Bush said, “We have a moral obligation to provide the best possible care and treatment to the men and women who have served our country.” And he’s done just that.
He has dramatically increased funding to support and care for those who have served our nation. He increased funding for veterans’ medical care by more than 115 percent since 2001. FY 2009 funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) totals more than $97 billion, nearly double the level of funding when the President took office and the highest level of support for veterans in history. He provided more than $6 billion to modernize and expand VA medical facilities and more than $1 billion over the past three years to support traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder treatment and research. He honored our veterans with a hallowed, final resting place by implementing and fully funding the largest expansion in the national cemetery system since the Civil War.
President Bush improved care and services for Wounded Warriors. He created the Commission on Care for America’s Returning Wounded Warriors – co-chaired by former Senator Bob Dole and former Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala – to ensure that wounded service members and veterans receive quality care and services and can live lives of hope, promise, and dignity. Nearly all of the Commission’s recommendations have already been implemented, such as:
· Expanded training, screening, and staff resources to help service members and veterans suffering from mental health disorders.
· Created a joint Recovery Coordinator Program for seriously injured service members.
· Initiated a pilot program to replace the cumbersome system of two separate disability examinations with a single, comprehensive medical exam.
He also established a Center of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury and expanded VA’s polytrauma system of care to 21 network sites and clinic support teams to provide state-of-the-art treatment to injured veterans at facilities closer to their homes.
President Bush ensured those of us who have served our country receive the benefits we deserve. He called for and signed a GI Bill for the 21st century, which expanded education benefits for service members and veterans and made it easier for those who defend our Nation to transfer unused education benefits to their spouses or children. I will have a degree by the time I get out of the military and will take advantage of this program – one that didn’t exist before.
He increased career counseling services for returning veterans, particularly those wounded in combat. He also signed legislation that increased from two to five years a combat veteran’s eligibility to enroll for lifetime VA medical care and allowed family members of injured service members to take additional time away from their jobs to care for their loved ones. He signed legislation to ensure military retirees with severe disabilities receive both their military retired pay and their VA disability compensation. He has helped more than 1.9 million veterans enroll in the VA health care system since 2001. And he reduced the average length of time to process a veteran’s disability claim to under 180 days, down from 230 days when the President took office.
Finally, President Bush worked to decrease the number of homeless veterans in this country. He expanded Federal grants and worked extensively with faith-based and community organizations to help homeless veterans. This helped cut the number of homeless veterans by nearly 40 percent from 2001 to 2007.
And yet he hasn’t and won’t get the credit he deserves. Instead, he will be nitpicked and torn apart by partisan hacks who are too ignorant to see past their sheepish blinders. Senator John Warner said it best back in 2004 when he said, “The President has done his job since the first day he took office on behalf of veterans.
If the nation’s character can be judged by the way it treats its veterans and its military, President George W. Bush has brought the highest level of character this nation could hope to achieve. He has treated our troops with love, honor, respect, devotion, and steadfast leadership. He hasn’t always done it perfectly, but he did what he thought was best and made corrections when needed. That is the sign of a good leader and we were lucky to have him after the neglect of the previous eight years. And, I can’t forget the Stolen Valor Bill he passed. Can’t believe I almost forgot that.

So, President Bush, from the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for your service and sacrifice to this country and to your troops. I truly wish it could have been easier for you and you would have gotten the respect you deserve. History will vindicate you to the rest of this selfish nation, but we here salute you.

sue
Well done CJ.
johnston45
I will never forget the time when he sneaked over to Iraq to surprise the troops on Thanksgiving. He stepped into the hall, and the troops gave him a thunderous welcome. Of all the places he could have spent his Thanksgiving holiday, he chose to visit our troops.
CommanderMom
We second that salute, from the bottom of our hearts’, here, too!!
Wish him, his wonderful and gracious family Godspeed, peace and much well deserved R&R time.
MissBirdlegs in AL
Amen and Amen! Wish somehow we could all let him know how proud we are of him. I’m grateful for his steadfastness!
Ky Woman
Execellent job CJ…
I’m astounded by his grace and forgiveness to those who have pointed their fingers at him for the failures of our Congress and the rest of those idjuts in DC.
God will surely bless him with a crown of jewels.
CommanderMom
I’m soo with you on that MissBirdlegs!
CJ?(teehee)
I’m writing and sending an e-mail, silly I know, knowing full well he will most likely never see it, but have to try anyways!
Donna
Thank You CJ for writing this! President Bush deserves so much praise that he’s not getting from so many people. You did him a good deed by writing this. God Bless him and as you stated he will be vindicated in the future!
Critical Facts
Most if not all of the “signed legislation …” points made in the top-post refer to legislation passed by the Democratic-controlled congress that you all so abhor.
CJ
Congress alone doesn’t pass bills! It boils down to ONE man most of the time. I can always count on you, CF, to be the jerk and be prideful. Any chance to swipe and you take it. It’s like fishing with a shotgun in a bathtub with you.
Isn’t it interesting how it’s all Bush’s fault when some policies go bad or something else goes wrong, but when you try to give him some credit for other policies that work you get, “hey, Bush didn’t do that! The ‘Democratic-controlled congress that you all so abhor’ deserves the credit!!” What a crock, CF. You’re such an asshole. You don’t know when to shut your yap.
Critical Facts
CJ:
There is a reason you are so sensitive re this topic; and I suspect, moreover, the reason is not because you think bush did a terribly great job while in office.
CJ
No need to psycho analyze me. It’s YOU, not Bush.
Clyde
I agree with critical facts. CJ seems to be a little pissed off with Facts.
Nothing to debate with, no facts, so let me just get abusive.
Bush was a retard and his retardness was felt all the way here in India and around the world.
He needs to be charged for war crimes and I do hope the current government gets him in Gitmo some day so all you guys could take pics of him, how ull did with the Iraqis
Clyde
Isaac
Clyde,
I would rather try YOUR leaders who don’t mind killing fellow countrymen just because their mom’s and dad’s were of a different caste.
His “retardness” (with your crappy English you just made that word up), SAVED my country, so screw you.
mickey
CJ, job well done. I am proud to stand with you and those who agree with this post and more. CF, Clyde and Chris before he gets here are a bunch of ignorant idiots who will never agree with anything you post. These are the kind of persons who are still shouting to the devil in the streets and praising all the wrong in the world. It is truly saddens me, but doesn’t surprise me. They have to much time on there hands.
CJ, keep up the great work I am with you buddy. I know SSG Jason Arnette(KIA4/1/07) all the others are watching your back.
Sharon
CJ, I want to thank you for this wonderful tribute to President Bush. Clearly, he is most deserving of our thanks and praise, and in time the historical record will reflect his strength of character and tremendous accomplishments. Indeed, he brought this great country through some of its darkest days and remained vigilant to keep evildoers intent on our destruction from our shores. Take heart from the positive entries here that the majority of Americans recognize the truth. Even though some have responded negatively, they do so out of the darkness of ignorance.
Doug
Well, yes, if you’ve gotten over 4000 soldiers killed, you do need to expand the cemetaries a bit. When you’ve gotten 25,000 wounded, then it follows you’d better have “increased funding for veterans’ medical care “. When there’s tens of thousands of brains shaken from IEDs and a hundred thousand or more stress cases, of course there’s a boom market in “traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder treatment.”
Of course, that’s not his fault that all this happened. He’s just taking care of all those soldiers he put there.
CJ
Doug, Soldiers die and get wounded in combat. Some people just aren’t worthy of their sacrifice…
NY-David
George Bush presided over the nation during one of its darkest times. He provided faith and comfort to a lot of people. He applied his best efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice and make the country more secure. This while having your every move subject to 24/7 scrutiny for the past 8 years.
I have much to say about what I don’t like about him, but in the spirit of CJ’s post, I wanted to keep positive.
Thanks George and happy trails!
NY-David
Rich
CJ seriously I would just give some of these trolls the boot and ban them.
Regardless great post
Chrisntx
Good post CJ and from the heart.
Donna
Great post CJ! I had to say it again and thanks for stating some facts that I didn’t know that President Bush had done for the military!
Steve
CJ- Keep up the good work. Don’t let people with a poor outlook drag you down. To be honest, I wasn’t aware of most of the things you mentioned. I’ve been a civilian for too long,Iguess. It makes it easy to forget what you guys go through. My opinion stands firm none the less. Pres. Bush did the best he could with what he was presented with. There was no way in Hades he wasn’t going to be thrown under the bus after what he has had to deal with as president. The fact is that Pres. Bush stands for all the things that liberalsdon’t get. Honor is a big one and doing the right thing even when it hurts is another.
chris
Donna, when I read the article, I also learned some things I had not known. I had every intention to also add some things good about my recent vote for The U.S.House Florida 1st District, a Republican that has done some excellent work for my military town with both young men and women being trained to be prepared to defend their and my country. We have many, many, retired vets here.George Bush and his influx of money into the military allowed him to have some possitive impact projects for the military men and women for this area. I am not going to do that now because what good would it do? CJ does some excellent things here and he has so much promise. My pride in him was immediatly replaced with embarasment as I read his mean, hatefull, totally inappropriate response to someone who just happens to disagree with him. Then Mickey throws my name into the ring even before I had a chance to speak, even after last week he made a point to tell me he can say anything he wants because his son payed the ultimate price defending this country so that everyone can have the right of free speech. I guess what he means in his own views and anyone who aggrees with him and CJ. If I was ignorant as he says I wouldn’t even be here wanting to have a conversation. In all my ignorance I actually think there is a difference between a conversation in which people put forth their opinion for the practical purpose of learning someone else’s views and maybe, just maybe learn something you didn’t know before as Donna and I actually had. The problem with these articles is if you don’t agree with CJ or I guess even Mickey you are an ingrate. Sorry Mickey, it don’t work that way. Your son payed the price for EVERYONE, regardless of their opinions, their race, their Religion, or their political possition. CJ, you cut everyone down that disagrees with you. You always have a right to your opinion and the language you used above just because someone had a differing opinion than yours, belittles you! All the good you do is torn down. Your quest to be right has no place on a web site that offers peoples input. I actually want to know what other people around the world have to say and how they think President Bush has impacted their lives. Why do you put your views out there and then cuss and show how actually impartial you are to opposing views. Sorry dude, that just isn’t the American way. I say the same to you as I did Mickey. You have fought and got wounded for the right of free speech and you sometimes have more venom than needed toward opposing views. You remind me of a Cottonmouth snake. A rattlesnake rattles to let you know he is there and maybe get away without confrontation. The opposite is true of the Cottonmouth, he is going to strike over and over to defeat you. In politics or even open conversation [which the world wide web is] there is no place for your rude and crude aggresion toward anyone period! Go ahead and take me off your list, I don’t want to be bullied by anyone, not you, not a fortune teller like Mickey that puts words out there even before I have had a chance to speak. I speak for myself, I think for myself, and want nothing to do with anyone who thinks they know it all. It serves no purpose! Have great one sided posts!
CJ - aka: The Cottonmouth
Chris,
It’s sad you want to take this so personally. I don’t cut everyone down that disagrees me. David and I are actually very decent in our disagreement. I like him because he doesn’t ALWAYS have to be disagreeable. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I make no bones about absolutely despising people like Critical Facts and Clyde who NEVER have a positive thing to say. Look at the past where I’ve written good news stories about Soldiers being awarded the Silver Star or Distinguished Service Cross. Look at the posts where I write about the bravery of our troops in combat or here at home. You’ll notice something conspicuously missing: CF and Clyde. However, when they are presented with an opportunity to bash our President they jump all over it. Yes, they are assholes and I rarely use that term.
CF doesn’t have his own blog that I’m aware of, but I can bet that if he did there would NEVER be a good word spoken about Bush. At least I’ve been fair in my criticism in the past of Bush, but I’m also going to highlight his successes. Clyde has his own blog (he’s from India probably working on my customer service support line) and has never said a good thing about our President. Not that I care because he has nothing to do with my country except making sure that my problems with customer service are dealt with.
Just as you say you have no patience for me and my “rightness”, I have the same lack of patience for these people. I respect people like NY-David because at least he is fair in his contempt of Bush. He comments on the positive posts and not just the controversial ones.
Chris, I want you to notice something though! Critical Facts and Clyde are still able to post whenever they want. Unlike most sites, and against the wishes of many of my readers, I don’t delete or ban them. They know what they’re going to get here and keep coming back. In a way, I respect that too. You, however, prefer to just be removed from my mailing (which already happened by the way). I saw that you were taking all this entirely too personally and instead of infighting with family, I saw fit to remove you so that this wouldn’t happen.
Let me finally say that people CHOOSE to go into places where cottonmouth snakes live. They understand the dangers of possibly coming across one and getting bit – over and over. I am a cottonmouth and this is my lair. Like it or leave it. hissssssssss.
bob
It is too bad that people like Clyde don’t understand how much Pres Bush has helped the security of this country and the men and women who wear the uniform. I’m in the Army and was not aware of the many accomplishments he was able to get through for the military. But it does not surprise me. He was never the type to need the spotlight. What he does is the result of his own personal beliefs not what number he can get in the polls. President-elect Obama can certainly take a page from Bush’s playbook. Although something tells me I don’t think he will.
Sheri
Amen! Great tribute!
Proud Mother of a U.S. Marine
sue
Bob there are people who would never admit to anything good associated with President Bush. A fact of life that he is more than willing to live with. He has already said that History will be his judge. He is not concerned by it at all. The man has faith and it has seen him through the worst of it. And when he leaves the White House and the torch is passed he can go and relax on his ranch while Obama takes the reins and know that he did his best. It’s all that we as a country can ask of any one who sits in that office. It’s all that was asked of Clinton though we got considerably less and thats all we will ask of Obama and hope and pray for the best.
Isaac
If Clyde thinks he gives an “international” perspective then I like to ask why he NEVER dares to reply to my comments about both his country and his opinions although I too give his so called “international” perspective.
Doug
I would have a somewhat higher standard than “he did his best”. It’s like a med student trying brain surgery, or a Cessna pilot trying his hand at a 747. How about what he actually accomplished?
- Of the two wars he started, has failed to finish one and is slowly losing the other
- Failed to capture or kill the most wanted man in the world and his protector
- Failed to find any WMD he swore was there
- More than doubled the deficit
- Plunged us into the worst recession since the 30s
- Failed to try, much less convict, a single terrorist suspect at Gitmo
- Failed to provide prompt response after Katrina
- Racked up the highest disapproval rating in history (10 points worse than Nixon)
- Finally, led his party to utter defeat across the board.
But he did take care of the vets! Oh wait, what about that Walter Reed thing?
Mickey
Doug, I am guess you believe Bush did all of this by himself without the back of anyone in the Administration???? Right And there is ice in hell too???
devildog6771
Before I comment on C.J.’s post I feel I must respond to Clyde.
1. Thank Bernie Sanders for Walter Reed. He had a blanket policy of signing off on every single funding cut for “anything” related to the military. When asked about it he was proud of his actions. Walter Reed did not decay under Bush, that deed was done some time ago.
2. He didn’t fail after Katrina. The Governor of La. failed. I heard her refuse his help myself on national T.V.. When you refuse aide and help up front, you can only expect it will be harder and take more to catch up afterwards!
3. Iraq, according to Iraqis is a success. Has been for some time. Of course there is much left to do; but, the surge you guys ignore “did” work!
In Afghanistan, I agree more could have been done; But, we are not in total charge there are we? [we being the coalition]
4. We may not have captured Osama; but, we sure have made his life a “living” hell. He doesn’t dare show his face, does he? We have on the other hand constantly decimated the Al-Qaeda in Iraq leadership repeatedly!
5. There have been numerous findings of places where WMDs were made or stored. There are intelligence photos showing the moving of heavy “??” out of Iraq during the period between 9/11 and when we took action. Had I been Saddam, I certainly wouldn’t have kept them in Iraq.
6. Bush failed her. He should have asked Americans to make sacrifices as other war time Presidents have done. However, we never had to fight a war against a “non nation” before. This fact along with the actions taken by the left, ANSWER was founded within days of the war to stir up protests and lack of support. I don’t suppose he felt he would get any where down that route.
7. Recessions and deficits are a consequence of any war of major significance.
8. How could Bush have possibly tried much less convict a single “terrorists” at Gitmo when the ACLU, liberal leftist judges, and the anti war crowd sponsored by ANSWER, UFPJ, IAC, Code Pink, to name a few organizations, the Shadow Party and the entire united front of the extreme left joined forces to stop every effort and attempted effort Bush made not just at Gitmo; but, elsewhere!
The left has deliberately sabotaged every effort of Defense of our nation against the terrorists.Their hatred of Bush has blinded them to anything else. Now, their hatred of America will be seen for what it really is!!
9. When the people in control of the Democratic party and the media, controlled by the extreme left provide nothing but a steady diet of failures, negative coverage, talk only of failures and refuse to acknowledge, much less mention successes, is it any wonder his rating was so low. By the way, Teddy Kennedy was single-handidly responsible for orchestrating the debacle of Watergate!
Now, George Bush and our veterans. C.J., your post was great and right on target. Now let me tell you another little thing President Bush did, very quietly and with compassion and dignity, he called the families of troops who were killed in service of their country to offer his personal condolences. When my nephew died, I was shocked when he did so. Even John Warner didn’t do that. Nor did any other state official in Virginia. But, the President did so personally.
Thank you for your service C.J.. Thank you for giving the President the credit and thanks he is due. I have tried repeatedly to write something about all he has done. But, you, sir, have done it so much better. Great post!!
Mickey
devildog6771, Thank you, I salute you! I will tell you that Sen. John also made some call, for I received one. And many letters for those so called terrible Rep. But I didn’t have any communication for one single Dem. God Bless America
Critical Facts
Good Lord, where to begin?
Oh, I know. News flash: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/11/10/bush-disapproval-ratings-reach-new-record/
I am sorry if you feel bad for the guy, but I don’t! Nope! I feel sorry for those whose lives have been ruined by the Bush administration and its disastrous policies.
sue
Yes of course we are all enthralled by what the Clinton News Network has to say but what they neglected to mention was that the Democratically held Congress and Senate have the most abysmal ratings, and they are even LOWER than Bush’s!!
Critical Facts
sue:
Here’s another news flash re the poor ratings talking point you have been arguing against the Democratic congress for the past two years: the public just made the Democratic congress even more Democratic; indeed, the Senate is now but a few votes shy of being veto-proof. So much for your your argument!
Doug
Funny how with the Republicans in complete charge of the government for six years, with even the supine Democrats giving Bush everything he wanted, all these problems are somebody else’s fault. Like the media or small antiwar organizations set or execute policy. For the defenders of failure, here’s a test as to whether you’re being objective and rational – if all this had happened under a Gore administration and Democratic majority, would you be blaming right-wing radio and the Republican minority for his problems?
sue
Still doesn’t change the facts. The Dems have had two years to fix things and they have done nothing. Absolutely nothing has been accomplished in the last two years. Now’s your big chance.
And Doug if you cannot see the disgraceful bias in the media, then you need to just stay in your happy place drinking your Kool Aid.
Journalism is reporting the news, not slanting the story to be most favorable to whom you support. A journalist’s opinion, nor that of the media outlet they write for does not belong in any piece they produce. If you can honestly look at your news media and say they follow that rule, then please let us all know what station you listen to. Because I sure would like to hear honest reporting for a change.
Too often now, the journalist tries to make the news not just report it. That is tabloid journalism. Not pure journalism.
Opinions belong on the OPED page NOT the front page.
Critical Facts
Actually, sue, that is not correct. In fact, Dems have done something – e.g., they agreed to continuing funding Bush’s war in Iraq, which they did not have to do.
PS. Re journalism, I am curious what you think about the “news” stories appearing in the Wall Street Journal. Any bias detected?
Doug
Without a filibuster-proof majority and a President who threatens to veto Democratic bills not to his liking, the options in the last two years have been limited (although I will say the Dems could have done more). We certainly were not going to get a drawdown in Iraq, increased regulation to tamp down the surging market to prevent the subsequent collapse, or any other major change in policy.
Uou’re right in that this IS our big chance to show how things can be changed. But it’s a long way out of this hole.
sue
Youre right CF, I mispoke, they actually DID do something. They voted themselves a pay raise because they are so deserving.
Critical Facts
yup. And they couldn’t have done it, sue, without their equally deserving republican comrades, many of whom were just voted out of office! Hmmm. Now how about that WSJ, eh???
devildog6771
I believe you have misplaced your adjective, Critical Facts. The Comrades in Congress are in the Progressive Caucus and one is waiting his move into the White House. Oh yeah, one did leave the House and become a Senator to see if he could spread his failed socialists views there.I am sure he will find a few there too. No one ever accused any of our elected Representatives of free thought!
Critical Facts
devil,
Nope. Simple math (the first grade type) proves you wrong. But then again, assuming you are correct, that means your boy George had his hands all over the bill, as he signed it into law. Either way, you lose!
Just A Nobody
Thank you for the wonderful post in tribute to our awesome President and Commander-in-Chief, CJ.
Glad to see you are still at it and continue to support President Bush.
By this time next year I believe most will be lamenting the good old days of President George W. Bush! I will miss him and am grateful that he chose to take 8 years of his life to serve our country.
Thank you President Bush and may God Bless You!

CJ- Thank you so much for the wonderful writing about our great President. I always admired his dedication to our military. I am scared to think where we would be today if it were not for his intelligent decisions. It is not easy to be the leader of this great country and no matter what he did or said; he could never satisfy everyone. There will always be those that disagree but in my heart I feel you, CJ, did a wonderful job thanking President Bush. God Bless you, our President, our country and all of our military-past, present and future.
CJ
Thanks, bis. Thanks for voicing your support as well.
Bob
Thanks CJ.
I salute Bush and am proud to have served 8 of my 20 years under him.
Bush will be proven right in the long run. Unfortunately, our fast-food society just doesn’t get it, and they probably wont until the bread lines and gasoline lines start. The treasonous behavior of his “supporting” cast (ala Reid/Pelosi/Dean) hurt this country more than the press will ever allow to be printed, and they share a great deal of the blame for our current economic crisis as well. He was an average man trying to do the right thing, all with a tremendous anchor around his neck for the majority of his term.
John
What infuriates is that God uses what some consider “foolish” to confound the wise. I am grateful to Pres. Bush and how he has been a humble leader desiring to make the world free. He will go down in history as one of our greatest Presidents. A thank you also goes out to all the men and women serving in our armed forces. God bless you all.
PLTNSGT
Thank You CJ you are doing a great work here.
I am nearly 50 now and have watched our national security slide down the skids since Jimmy Carter’s tri-‘liberalisms’ were instated, having weekend our national security ever since.
I am glad President Bush (43) has the “hoots-bah†to do what was necessary in protecting our Country.
I sometimes cannot believe how selfish the other Party can be in misrepresenting President Bush, along with the media.
They should be ashamed of themselves as Americans, and our representatives!
As many of us were, I was their in the beginning of the attacks on our Country and the Wars.
I remember first hand what really happened, and out of love for this Country is why I served others.
Politicians’ could stand to learn some lessons from Veterans that actually serve others and not themselves…
shea
I’m not disagreeing with you that he has improved some things for the military and veterans, however due to the scope of all the operations and contingencies, he has not done nearly enough, current funding and programs are at the level they need and should have been prior to the war on terror, there needs to be a much greater investment in Veterans, the VA is drastically underfunded for the mission that they are expected to handle with the amount of veterans that they serve today
Stopbarack
Amazing job my friend. I thank you for your efforts, your honesty, and most of all your service to your country.
I linked this article on my website and emailed it to everyone I know.
If you would like me to remove it I will do so promptly, I just want as many people as possible to read it.
Thank you again.

Thank you so much, you have done such an awesome post about President Bush. Thank you!
Thank you for your being such an important part of why I am able to live in the land of the free.

I will forever be grateful for President George W. Bush and I’m sad to see the end of his term in Office. He kept me and my Loves safe after the attack on our Country, 9/11, and I think one day will be respected and honored for all the good things he did during his 8 years in office. I’m angry at those that blamed him for everything that went wrong during his term in office, but that will come back to them one day. So many of those that are suppose to “Serve Us” are there only for their own profit, and of course, oppose anyone that is a Christian and had no agenda, other than to serve the people. I wish President Bush and his family a wonderful life in Texas, away from the “meanness” of politics. They deserve a life of abundant blessings for the sacrifice and service they gave all of us. George W. Bush will forever be my most beloved President. God Bless him always. He and Laura, the First Lady, had more class and substance than any other President in office since his Father and Mother and Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

To President Bush I say thank you for keeping us safe and being true to what you believe. I know that you did the best you could. Congress on the other hand has a lot to answer for. I believe they are the true problem. To your lovely wife and family I wish them the best. Barbara is a true gem.

I second Jo’s comments. It saddened me how the people responded with such lack of response to Mrs. Bush’s introduction at the Inauguration. President and Mrs. Bush are true heroes. God bless them.

To President George W. Bush and Laura I want to say “thank you” for giving our country 8 years of service where you displayed graciousness, selflessness, and were all giving even in the face of disapproval from the left who ‘just doesn’t get it’. Thank you also to our military heroes. May we continue to enjoy the safe freedom so freely given by them. God Bless America!

You are correct CJ.
I love President Bush. And I have made an effort to post here because he has taken the constitution to heart and PROTECTED US from our enemies.
The new administration was elected by those who want our government to shower them with unproved green ideas and access to our tax dollars that will be distributed to those who have no work ethic because of the government.
Semper Fi my friend. We are in for a terrible ride.

I am only 12 years old but I come from a very good family. My father is a republican and every since I was little I have always listened to his many political arguements, he has made me very aware of politics.
I am a huge Bush fan and nothing makes me more upset than when people blame Bush for the state that the country is in. He actually improved it quite a bit. It also makes me mad when some democrats go on and on about how Bush is bad when in all reality they have never researched the facts.
My fathers 4O1K will be distributed to people and families that have never worked a day in their life when he has worked all of his. I do believe that everyone needs help sometime and when that day comes they should get the help needed but if they never try to better themselves then tax payers money should not be waisted on them. I believe that there should be a stimulous package, however it should be distribuded to the working class families. In turn we will over come our echonomic crisese.
God Bless the U.S.A, George Bush, and all of the soldiers out there fighting for our freedom today! Amen!

it hurt me as an american to see our great nation be run into the ground by greedy power hungry individuals who care only for themselves and not the people.i pay my taxes like every american does but still get robbed in the end by the above mentioned people. i feel as an nation we need to stand together and take an active role in our nation, because the people make up the nation NOT THE GOVERNMENT!the government should look out for it people first and foremost not it self.our constitution was written as the rules to govern our nationnot to be inturepited into suit other goals.(our founding fathers said,”we the people,” not we the government.)i believe we should follow our constitution and stop adding on to it and intuperting with it.

Clyde can go f*** himself. I am an Indian and I served with the Rashtriya Rifles in the Indian Army and today live in the United States.
President Bush did more for my country than any American President in history. He put his reputation on the line consistently for which my ungrateful nation has shown no thanks. Instead they will blindly swallow the rhetoric of President Obama, whose actions have done nothing for India.
So from the bottom of my heart, thank you President Bush.
(Besides since when did Clyde become an Indian name?)
