WordPress has released the much anticipated 2.7 release and this is a major upgrade over version 2.6.5 which I never bothered to upgrade to once I learned of the major changes coming in 2.7. The biggest change you readers will see in the ability to reply directly to comments. That is right, WordPress now supports threaded comments.

I’ve always hated how WordPress didn’t do this on it’s own and didn’t really trust any of the plug-ins that can make it happen due to the inability of those plug-ins to cache comments on the webserver. One plug-in recently made that happen and just as I was about to install the plug-in, WordPress acquired the company that made the plug-in and slated it for native WordPress coding in version 2.7.

As soon as I hit the publish button, I’m going to download the new release and begin the upgrade. In doing that, I will put the blog into maintenance mode so y’all won’t be able to read the blog during the upgrade. Things will be broken until the upgrade is complete and all the other plug-ins switched back on. Trust me, y’all don’t want to fill up the error logs with bad calls to plug-ins and such.

Well, wish me luck. Time to work upgrade magic.

  1. Testing comments.

    • Replying from the admin side of the house. Will it thread (blend)? HAHAHA, get it? Will it blend. Oh, I kill my self. *snort*

  2. Testes. Testes!

    • You would say something like that, sicko.

      • I can’t believe I didn’t think of it first.

      • It’s Gay Day. I’m supposed to pretend that the whole country is gay and depends upon gay people for our very existence. When is straight day by the way? I could use a day off!

        • I think we should make straight day on every day that isn’t Gay Day.

  3. Does this mean graphics in comments are on their way?
