My father is a JROTC instructor down in Tampa, Fl. He is a retired Navy Command Master Chief and continues to serve. He recently received an email from the mother of one of his first students. She is the founder of T.A.M.P.A. (Tampa Area Marine Parents Association) and she could use some help. It won’t cost you a dime or even a lot of time. Here’s the email:

Many of you know that when my son went into the Marines, after graduating from TBT in 2003, I co-founded a Marine Family support group for the state of Florida (T.A.M.P.A./Tampa Area Marine Parents Association). Over the past 5 years it has grown into a large group of family members, friends and supporters and in 2004 we formed a non-profit organization for the group. This group has become a real “family” for me and I don’t know how I would have made it when my son was injured while on deployment in Ramadi, Iraq.

T.A.M.P.A. is thrilled to be one of the nominees for the 2009 WEDU Be More Awards for non-profit organizations. WEDU also offers a “People’s Choice” online award for the nominated non-profit that receives the most votes between November 19 and December 19, 2008. We really want to win this one, but we need your help.
