I got this in an email. While it’s been attributed to many people in emails, the true author is a Freeper named bootyist-monk. As a fellow bad American, I wanted to share it in case you haven’t seen it. My additions to the post are in italics.
YES, I’M A BAD AMERICAN
I Am the Liberal-Progressives Worst Nightmare. I am an American.
I am a Master Mason (well, I’m not, but I used to be in DeMolay as a kid) and believe in God.
I believe in American products and don’t mind paying a few extra dollars to support my fellow Americans.
I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some Liberal governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican!
I’m in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!
I think owning a gun doesn’t make you a killer, it makes you a smart American.
I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. Get over it!
I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English. If you’re going to sell me anything and I’m not in a foreign restaurant, do it in English. When I call to complain or offer praise, speak English.
I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to, even if it’s on government property.
My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and my fellow servicemembers who sacrifice so much for the benefit of others.
I don’t hate the rich. I don’t pity the poor. We are in charge of our own destinies and will succeed or fail based on our own actions and attempts at either.
I know wrestling is fake and I don’t waste my time watching or arguing about it.
I’ve never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven’t burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut up already. You don’t deserve ANY of my money because there was a time in our history when it was okay.
I believe if you’re clumsy and don’t watch where you’re going and slip and fall, it’s YOUR fault! If you spill coffee on yourself and receive burns because you’re an idiot, it’s YOUR fault. If you are caught drinking and driving, you should be tested and, if found to be drunk, should be shot on sight.
I believe if you don’t like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country! This is AMERICA…We like it the way it is!
If you were born here and don’t like it you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you.
I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution.
Can I get an AMEN on that one?
I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you’re breaking the law, regardless of what color you are. And, no, I don’t mind having my face shown on my drivers license.
I think it’s good….. And I’m proud that ‘God’ is written on my money.
I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don’t want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years. Voting is NOT a right! If you don’t pay taxes, you should not get a vote.
I believe the president of the United States should put his hand over his heart and say the pledge of alegance and should have no reservations about wearing American flag pins on his lapel.
I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making ‘donations’ to their cause. Get a Job and do your part!
I don’t believe that lazy do-nothings deserve money to sit and watch Oprah all day! Get off your ass and get a job. You have ONE MONTH and we’re cutting off your benefits.
I believe that it doesn’t take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents – a FATHER and a MOTHER.
I believe ‘illegal’ is illegal no matter what the lawyers think.
I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA!
If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I’m a BAD American.
If you are a BAD American too, please forward this to everyone you know.
We want our country back!
We NEED GOD BACK IN OUR COUNTRY! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.

D- Hate to break it to you, but us Liberal-Progressives are Americans as well!

D- I like Yamaha. They are cheaper, quieter and break down less, but ride what you like.

D- Refer to my previous comment about minotiries. The fact that its relgated to 4 pages in a history book is disgusting. S/he who doesn’t know their history is doomed to repeat it. I also believe that you can’t claim the “Land of the Free” unless you accept it, good, bad and ugly.

If I could buy and American monitor I would. I certainly try. Try buying ANYTHING at Wal-Mart that was made in America. I also ride a Suzuki motorcycle and a drive a Toyota van – both made here in America.
I don’t think – scratch that. I KNOW that not every person is victimized because of his/her skin color. Hell, I’ve been “victimized” because of my skin color and I’m white! People CHOOSE to be offended. Not my problem if they want to perpetuate a myth of bias (with the understanding it DOES happen; just not to everyone and happens to all skin colors, including white).
Hardly anyone complaining of slavery today was ever a slave. I was never a slave and never a slave owner, so I don’t care. It was history, we’ve gotten past it. Whites were slaves too and you don’t see us begging for money from people who had nothing to do with it.
I prefer to stay out of L.A., thanks. If I drive through there as a “white” guy I risk far more than getting pulled over by cops. I think I’d rather be pulled over 10 times for being “black” that shot once for being “white”.
Vets that “didn’t get the help they need” are mostly responsible for not seeking that help. More classified “victims” of society. As for teen pregnancy, it takes that teen and HER parents. Teen pregnancy is another personal choice that that person needs to live with, not my responsibility. It’s a family responsibility.
Yes, morons should not be allowed to vote. A voter should know and understand the issues as well as the candidates. There should be a test on how the electoral process works before a voter card is issued. Voting is not a constitutional right. If you don’t pay taxes, you don’t vote.
Not true on the flag when I see all kinds of foreign flags being gallavanted through the streets of DC and on the street corners of Huntsville, AL.
We’ve lost our country. Our government has more control and authority than any time in history, which means Americans have fewer rights.

Let me note that this is in NO WAY meant to be all-inclusive (or exclusive) to a particular party or ideology. I think what is intended by the “I Am the Liberal-Progressives Worst Nightmare. I am an American” comment is that I don’t hyphenate my name. It doesn’t mean that liberals or progressives are NOT Americans by any means. Just wanted to clarify in light of David’s comment.

As I drive a Honda made in Alabama (I believe), I agree with you on this one.
No one alive today was around when the Emancipation Proclamation was written, so no one can claim to have been part of it. From working in the finacial “Wall St” area and see decent hard-working black guys only get so far because of a ceiling, coming in earlier then me and leaving later then me. Not that there is anything anyone can do about it. I’m no more in favor of letting the government decide this then I am with them deciding how much a CEO should and should not make.
Again, morons should be able to vote because I don’t want to be the one having to decide their mentality and neither do you. I served with some fine NCO’s who couldn’t tell you which country fought in the civil war, but were smart enough that I’d follow them into battle anywhere.
