You read that right. Current Iraq Veterans Against the War activist and bonehead Adam Kokesh is running for Congress as New Mexico’s Third District Representative candidate. It’s no secret that I think Kokesh is a tool and has misled the public with actions in which he participated in the streets of Washington, D.C. with fake patrols and “arrests.” His website, www.kokeshforcongress.com, notes that he was given an Honorable Discharge but doesn’t say a word about the fact that the Marine Corps withdrew his Honorable Discharge and replaced it with a General Discharge for violating Marine Corps and Department of the Navy regulations. He tells his constituents that he “was promoted to Sergeant and awarded a Combat Action Ribbon and Navy Commendation Medal” but fails to tell them he was subsequently reduced in rank to Corporal.

Additionally, he found a fellow tool in obtaining the endorsement of Ron Paul, someone I agree with on just about all points until we hit national security. I also find it highly suspect that Kokesh doesn’t make one mention that I can find of his association with IVAW, the Marxist group of misfits and fake veterans whose sole purpose in life seems to be making our military suffer. Kokesh is not innocent of any of these actions. He went to Washington, D.C. and took part in the Winter Soldier fiasco as part of a delegation to lie about what happened in Iraq; lies based very loosely on anecdotes but spun in overarching and systemic norms within the military. In fact, most of the WS idiots had no direct proof or experience with the stories they told, including Kokesh.

But, it is with an odd sense of irony that I find myself supporting his positions as a candidate to the extent that they don’t include national security. I agree with him completely on almost all of the issues he has publicly released so far. I even agree with him on the premise of declaring wars and the restrictions on Executive Power, while disagreeing with him about what “legitimate defense” is.

He falsely claims that the Executive Office went to war without Congressional approval or declaration, which is overtly false. This is the classic argument of the ignorant buffoons pervasive in the seditious IVAW. One would expect a candidate for Congress to be a little more educated about how we got into Iraq and not continue to sling falsehoods and inaccuracies. But, I agree with him that our Foreign Policy is flawed and unconstitutional. The American people pay billions of dollars to corrupt governments for political and economic gain. We outsource our jobs that has cost the American taxpayer billions in taxes to pay for unemployment benefits that wouldn’t be given out if those jobs were here.

While we’re on the same page on most Constitutional issues with libertarian beliefs of limited government, I can’t shake his immoral and dishonorable actions in defaming our troops. It’s easy to create a website where the message is controlled and swallowed by the uneducated populace. But, I can’t help but cringe thinking that this guy would ever make it to Congress and that the military would have to answer to him! But, the district in which he is running leans Democratic and an independent candidate with a military background – no matter how disreputable – stands a good chance of getting elected if a strong candidate isn’t put up in opposition. And that is what scares me. He does clean up well though, I’ll give him that. And his videos aren’t half bad either. But, we all know what happens when we vote for cool videos and nifty slogans!

  1. Your title totally gobsmacked me. Hard to believe, but I agree that he’s liable to be elected. We seems to have a country full of idiots.

  2. And a lot of those idiots will look at the nice production and be motivated to vote with out looking at all the issues.

  3. At least you got the heading right.

    • Care to elaborate one what I got wrong? Or do you have nothing of substance to add to the conversation?

  4. I’m nit picking, but I’m fairly certain Kokesh retained his honorable discharge from active duty, but was given a general discharge from the IRR. I can look into it if you want.

  5. Marcus, please look into that because I did a post about the Marines stripping him of his honorable discharge – something I criticized the Corps for doing at the time.

  6. “…someone I agree with on just about all points until we hit national security. ”

Libertarians simply dispute/reject that the state can legitimately claim to have a monopoly on coercion, and violence.

I’d encourage you to read up on Libertarian philosophy, and seriously consider what the implications of being an agent of state aggression are.

  7. IF ANYONE REALLY WANTS TO KNOW A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THIS IDIOT, LET ME KNOW. I SERVED IN IRAQ WITH HIM AND WAS IN THE SAME UNIT.

  8. I would really like to know more about Adam. Been doing my homework about him , thinking about voting for him but would like more info from the other side. thank you

    • Misty, the best thing you can do is click on the links in this post. You’ll get all kinds of information.

  9. You are a Disgrace and this blog is propaganda. You are a stooge

  10. Neo-Con Zionist Shill.National security my ass you know these wars have nothing at all to do with national security. This blog is Bullcrap with a degenerate sell out at the Helm

  11. Ron Paul had massive donations From the Military.Make them suffer how dare you deceptive lying Lowlife

    • You seem to not realize that CJ is saying IVAW makes the military suffer, not Ron Paul. Take a pill.

    • Sorry beauti, but REAL Soldieres would NEVER donate to a GOD-DAMN, gutless, hate-filled anti-military extremist like ron paul!!!!

That would be like the Jews voting for Hitler….IMPOSSIBLE to happen!!!!

  12. If America would defend its borders and its Constitution instead of having its head all the way up Israel’s behind, maybe things like 9/11 wouldn’t happen. When you stick your nose in someone else’s business it usually gets busted. The Constitution does not guarantee the freedom to travel safely all over the world or tolerate infinite types of behavior. It guarantees the safety of American citizens here within our borders. People who travel from America to foreign countries are on their own just like others who take risks in sports or adventures. Neither do we don’t have to let people travel into America if that unduly increases our risk.

  13. C J – You should read “War is a Racket”, written by Smedley Butler, Major General in the USMC, and the most decorated Marine in the history of the Corp. After 32 years of invading countries on behalf of American corporations, he realized that war is a racket to enrich the “death merchant” military industrial complex, NOT to protect the American people. Wise up soldier! You are being used by the FAT CATS! As Kissinger said, “the military are just dogs of war, to be used and thrown away.”

    • Wow, the nuts are all over the place tonight! Sheesh, it’s hard to keep up. I read that book and hated it. It was nonsense wrapped in a veil of common sense utterances. Smedley was a hero, but he wasn’t always right. And neither are you.
