Jenn, you've got a GREAT point. Why does the president mention abortion doctors and security guards in his press releases but not those three Soldiers killed in Iraq on May 21st? Brilliant question! Oh, I'm sorry, you were talking about me. Let's see, on May 21st I was interviewing family members of fallen troops in Iraq and Afghanistan to tell their stories on They Have Names! Kiss my ass!

Hmm, Normally I would not comment, but this just popped out at me, see, on May 21st, three soldiers in Iraq were killed, from my brigade. The author of this blog never mentioned these three soldiers but did mention a rockband 2 tournament. Now I understand that there are so many people that die over there that it is hard to mention everyone of them, but if you are going to pick on someone else for the same thing, you shouldn't do it.

I'm off base? How? And he shouldn't say something for any American who is killed, why did he release a statement today about the killing of a mere security guard? Those Soldiers were targeted for exercising their Constitutional rights as well. I await your brilliant response. Oh, and how am I an extremist too? I'm very interested.

UR so far off base its sad. Even more so if you wear the armed forces uniform. UR the extremist in sheeps disquise. To advocate that our commander in chief cares nothing for his troops, you need to quit drinking. The doctor was killed for excercising his consitutional rights. Our soldier brothers were targeted by some extemist fool. We should ask our president to say something for any american who is killed, because we are all god fearing and loyal americans. That way no one feels slighted.

CJ, while I still disagree with your opinion, I appreciate you taking the time to expand on your thoughts. I now have a better (fuller) sense of where you're coming from, which can only be a good thing. And thanks for the hospitality, a great example of agreeing without being disagreeable.

Ben, I guess I should clarify. The President cares about the troops in the sense that he wants us to be well paid, have plenty of benefits, and feel good about ourselves. He cares about us in the sense that he has to because he's our boss and our lives are in his hand. He cares about us because it's politically expedient. But, does he lose sleep thinking about us? Does it eat him alive when a Muslim extremist opens fire at our troops in our homeland? If it did, a statement would have been immediate and intense! He would almost still be talking about it like he did when one of our own killed those five in Iraq. The reason he cared about that is because it helped his agenda to show that war causes troops to lose it! When troops lose it, it's a good excuse to shovel more money into the health care and create more of a victim mentality. In other words, the killing in Iraq suited his political ideology, but the killing in Arkansas didn't. The killing of the abortion doctor suited his political ideology, but the killing of a Soldier by a Muslim didn't.

After all, he had a big concession speech to make to them and can't be bothered by chastizing one of their own. What a great impression he would have made in my mind and many others if he had used this incident as an example of the kind of religious extremism that will NOT be tolerated by Muslims or any religion! But, alas, he did not because he doesn't that much about the troops. It's a superficial caring. Not a core of his heart caring.

And for the Air Force chairborne rangers that read my writing and push IG complaints against me, that is my opinion. Suck on it (not you Ben!). ;)

Needless to say that our president needs to make a statement and send his condolences to the family of the fallen soldier as well as good wishes to the one who was injured! It's late to do that but never too late if he cares at all about our military!

Be kind President Obama to our military, the ones who protect you and all of us!!

JD,
I'll first thank you for your service in the Marines. Second, I'll simply answer the question you as to why they are still in Iraq and Afghanistan. The job isn't done yet. We could argue the necessity of the wars, and believe me when I've been on both sides. The end result is that we are there. Call America what you want, but in the end, we are a responsible nation.
