You know, even though I consider myself a Conservative (oops, am I supposed to say that?) some of my fellow Conservatives need to really chill a bit. I’m getting emails up the yin-yang about the fact that President Obama recognized Ramadan.
According to the teachings of Islam, Ramadan commemorates the revelation of God’s word in the Holy Koran to the prophet Mohammad. The word has become the foundation for one of the world’s great religions. Today more than a billion Muslims around the globe celebrate the month of Ramadan with daily fasting, heartfelt prayer, and acts of charity.
During Ramadan, we are reminded of Islam’s long and distinguished history. Throughout the centuries, the Islamic world has been home to great centers of learning and culture. Muslim thinkers and scientists have advanced the frontiers of human knowledge. People of all faiths have benefited from the achievements of Muslims in fields from philosophy and poetry to mathematics and medicine.
Does this presidential message grate you? If so, where the hell were you when President Bush made them? That’s right. These are President Bush’s remarks last year at the beginning of Ramadan. He made a similar statement in 2007 as well.
Please stop filling my email box with crap about President Obama being a Muslim and using this as proof! Get a grip and take a long, hard look in the mirror at your hypocrisy.

I am sure there are many like me. I am more concerned about what his policies are doing to the country than what his religion is suppose to be. We have had other presidents that have said they were Christian but their actions would lead one to question their statements.

I’m with Fearless. I’m more worried about how Obama’s policies are going to further ruin this country. I cannot wait to see how much he plans to spend, of our money, in the next 4.5 months.

Everybody needs to chill out and realize that the present administration in NOT the Devil incarnate, contrary to the ravings of some old, pathetic emo. white guys on TV & radio. Obama is the worst thing to happen to this country since 9/11. He is a spend crazy, don’t bother with reading the bills’, egomaniac. Already liberal commentators are saying he’ll be known as the President who made the most trips while in office. He spent our money to hire a firm to send out emails to people who didn’t request them, he’s partisan, he’s weak on defense. His administration brought back the “Your Life, Your Choices” death book, to give to veterans, when the Bush administration deemed it unspeakable. What a guy! We can see what he thinks of the military by his words and his actions. I’m just speechless that anyone can be so RAH RAH over him, but then again there are a lot of “Gimme Gimme” types out there that don’t want to have to release blood, sweat, and tears, to get what they have. They just want it handed to them, with a kiss on each butt cheek.

I come from a country with a similar health care plan to the one BHO is trying to promote CF, and most people, me included, have waited more than 2 years for a simple dental treatment. It looks good on paper, but when it is actually implemented, you might reconsider.

Two wrongs never made a right, and nothing that Bush screwed up (and there was plenty) justifies anything the current fool-in-chief is doing.
