A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
Hello, my name is Chad, and I am President of Cat5 Commerce. Cat5 operates multiple retail destinations that have proudly served the military community for over five years. With CJ’s full cooperation, Cat5 has secured the rights to the blog and the domain name for A Soldier’s Perspective. Our hope in doing this is to provide CJ and company with the uncensored platform that has come to represent everything that ASP stands for.
CJ’s struggles with the PTA and the Army have been well documented here. These struggles culminated with his recent decision to shut the blog down. As loyal readers of A Soldier’s Perspective ourselves, we felt compelled to act and offered to operate the site in an effort to keep it going. CJ accepted, and by doing so, he can move past the technical and legal aspects of operating a blog and focus on what he does best — speaking the truth.
To be perfectly clear, Cat5 Commerce has only one objective in regards to the content on A Soldier’s Perspective: To give soldiers a voice. CJ has assured us he will continue posting and contributing, and we are reaching out to the rest of the staff to extend the same opportunity. We are fully committed to preserving the honesty, the integrity and the authenticity that has made ASP one of the most compelling military blogs on the web. Thank you for your continued support and for your ongoing interest in A Soldier’s Perspective.

Thanks SO much for doing this Chad. I am SO glad that ASP will be able to continue to provide readers with the honest truth about what is going on in the military world. Thank you once again.

As a recent reader of ASP, I was saddened and discourage to learn that it was being shut down. Thank you, Chad, for giving ASP an opportunity to continue as a source of truth and inspiration.

Way to go, Chad! I’ve been a reader almost from the day the doors opened. Glad to see they’ll stay open.

CJ, keep watching your six. This layer of protection won’t be enough.
Sigh.

This is the first time I’ve logged in since the closure announcement.
Chad, thank you.
As always, I may not always agree with what people say here, but damnit, I’ll fight to the death to defend their right to do so.
