I put up video a few days ago on the You Served blog of this event, but I’ve since been sent a lot of great pictures from President Bush’s visit to DFW Airport to welcome home some troops from their deployment. I wanted to share these with you. After all, the media didn’t cover it! Sometimes, it’s just too hard to swallow your pride when you’re the media and acknowledge the good deeds of a man they worked so hard to destroy.

  1. Third row down, center….I love that he is so casual with his affection. I am the same way. I hug and kiss everyone that I care for and he does this with strangers to show he cares.

I didn’t always agree with his politics, but MAN, he was a great Commander in Chief. Still is.

  2. I forwarded this to an 80 year old friend of mine in Massachettes. I LOVED her response: “Ralph, I had not seen this before, and if you hadn’t sent it to me, I’m sure I never would. Our newspapers and TV never show the true side of things. I have always thought of them as a ‘classy’ couple, and would like to see the current White House residents emulate them. Mrs. Bush is a Lady …..in her actions and in the way she dresses, and President Bush is so human……… I’m so nasty….really….I’m actually happy that it rained most of the time the OBama’s spent here at Cape Cod. When they came to Maine a few weeks ago, it was too hot to move, yet they said they hiked up Mt. Cadillac, and played tennis. There are no pictures of either activity, and I’m sure they did neither. If they did, in that heat, they must REALLY be nuts. I don’t want them to enjoy New England. BUT…..on the other hand, I am thrilled that the Bush family has a home in Maine, They just add to an already beautiful spot. I’ll make sure all my friends see these great pictures . Thanks, Liz”
