The DOD is working feverishly to find Soldiers who are “entitled” to stop loss pay that was inacted by Congress last year. The pay is earmarked for those Soldiers who were kept beyond their initial enlistment. Even though they signed a contract obligating themselves to eight years of possible service, our benevolent and entitlement-loving, hippie liberal government saw fit to give Soldiers money for keeping the contract they signed.

If you are a service member, veteran, or beneficiary of a service member (or know someone that meets this definition) whose service was involuntarily extended under Stop Loss between Sept. 11, 2001 and Sept. 30, 2009, they are eligible for Retroactive Stop Loss Special Pay (RSLSP), providing $500 for each month beyond their initial ETS date. If your extended service fell outside the eight year initial IRR obligation, I DO believe you deserve this money, but I’ll leave to everyone else’s conscience whether they will steal from the American people in honoring a document they signed – a contract.

I’m putting this out there, but I don’t approve this message! Here’s the link if you think you deserve money that you don’t deserve:

  1. Funny. You know there was a Youserved guest who covered this extensively, right? haha

  2. I have to say, I agree with you on the aspect of the contract. I didn’t get to serve my full enlistment due to some health issues. However, I knew the contract I signed. I knew that I could possibly be held over. I would go back immediately if they would let me.

  3. I’m right there with you on this!
