Women's Propper Tactical Pants

The material is thick, coarse (stiff & new), and seems to be very well made. I ordered a size up from my usual jean size & was glad I did as they seem to run either exactly true to size or perhaps leaning towards running a little smaller. They come unhemmed, which is perfect for someone 5'1" who has a hard time finding the right lengths as is. Also included is a belt, which I may or may not choose to utilize with them (though I'm sure I can use it with something else). The first thing I noticed when I put them on is the high quality of the snap closure (which is also reinforced by an inside button, similar to BDUs). The image listed here of the pocketing is exact - and none of the pockets are super low on my calf (again, not being a tall person, this matters!). Being that they're still brandnew, they will need a bit of time to "break in" as the Teflon coating makes them a bit rigid and rough to the skin - VERY desirable when dealing with potential bodily fluids and the like.

I love these cargo pants! First off, the sizes are true. There is plenty of cut on the hip and thigh area for women to be comfortable. They sit a little below the natural waist (or mine, anyway), but are definitely not hip-hugger style. Very comfortable fit! Second, these are really serious utility trousers. The pockets are roomy without being baggy. I like the double pockets in the seat and the right-hand front pocket. The D-ring is useful and well placed. The blend of cotton/canvas/polyester fabric is heavy enough to stand up to real labor, but light enough to be comfortable, even on a hot Oklahoma day. The double knees are great, and are not glaringly obvious like some I've seen. As for "wrinkle & shrink resistant"... they really mean it. I press these pants when they come out of the dryer, and wear them on the sales floor and moving freight at Wal-Mart all week. Unless something drastic happens, I can wear one pair the entire work week without washing or ironing again. They hold their shape, look good, and are very low-maintenance. They also seem to be stain resistant and clean up easily, even in cold water. I have recommended them to several people at work. They need to be hemmed, which is nice for those of us with irregular length needs. I would recommend washing them twice before wearing for long, though, as the fabric is quite stiff and can chafe if they aren't broken in a bit.

Fit was a lot tighter than expected, and has a high rise (the pants sit at my natural waistline, which is about 3 inches higher than I usually wear my pants on my hips). This fit may work for some women, but made me look like Steve Urkel. As far as the belt...I was excited that it came with one like the men's pants, however, the belt was barely long enough to even get through the clasp- not useable, they should not have cut the tail off so short. The pants fit more like regular BDU pants....I strongly prefer the TruSpec 24-7 women's lightweight tactical pants. In the same size the TruSpec pants are looser, sit lower on your hips without having a baggy crotch, and fit more like "cargo pants". I found the TruSpec pants pockets easier to get into than the Propper pants as well. Most definitely returning the Propper pants, and sticking with the 4 pairs of TruSpec that I already have.

Pretty good pants. They seem to fade pretty fast even when washed on cold. Size seems to run a bit small so get one size up from what you normally wear.

I really appreciate all the details included in these pants. The pockets, the D-ring - all excellent details. They run pretty true to size. I especially appreciate the fact that they come un-hemmed.
